Japanese Diamond & Pearl Glow in the dark?

G’day everyone,

I recently came a cross an interesting Japanese set from Diamond and Pearl that includes a range of glow in the dark cards, however after a fair bit of time spent researching I can’t seem to find much information about them and would love to know if anyone else knows anything more about them? Does anyone know of the full set of cards included in this interesting set?

From what I’ve been able to dig up, these packs were made by the well known candy company Top Seika (Topsun, etc), with each pack including chewing gum as well as two of glow in the dark cards.

I’ve included a couple images of the individual booster pack as well as one of the cards.

Cheers,

Simon.

Those are so cool!

My Japanese isn’t the best but I believe the pack says “Pokemon Luminous Card Game”?

I think the text on the right side of the pack is just saying theyre glow in the dark, and that there’s 2 cards inside.

Good luck!

Edit:
I found some listings on yahoojp!

I see them labeled with “carddass” sometimes on these listings as well, so maybe that’s where some originated?

I wonder if there’s a Shedinja…

Yeah I’ve seen similar mentions of carddass too – I’m struggling to find a reliable source of information about these cards. They are officially licensed from what I can see, so they aren’t knock offs, just surprised how little information there is about them. I’d love to know what’s in the full set, the period in which they were sold, etc.

It would be epic if one of the grading companies begun grading them too!

Nice share! Cool to basically have a set list for this not-well-known set!

Thanks! That’s exactly why I thought it might be interesting to share — it seems this series never really had an official set list published anywhere.

Just going to post to keep the images on E4 also. I don’t think Reddit links or images often break or get taken down but might as well be safe.

Great idea to keep the images safe here on E4.
Just to add, here’s the full 72-card checklist from the Luminous Card Gum series (2007–2008, Diamond & Pearl), as confirmed from the uncut sheet:

There was also a follow-up product released by Top-Seika called “Pokémon DP Luminous Plate Gum.”

Compared to the Topsun cards, the Luminous Card Gum series is far less recognized, even within Japan.
It’s generally considered nearly impossible to complete the full set, as availability was extremely limited from the beginning.

For that reason, this uncut sheet showing all 72 cards is especially meaningful — it not only documents the full lineup, but also highlights just how scarce this product truly was.

Here is the complete 72-card checklist from the Luminous Card Gum series (2007–2008, Diamond & Pearl), confirmed from this sheet:

By the way, as some of you may already know, the Luminous Card Gum is actually a successor product to the Topsun cards. Both were produced by Top Seika and are officially licensed by Nintendo.

Top Sun Card is a product of Top Confectionery. Pokemon Luminous Card Gum is also a top confectionery product. Pokemon Luminous Card Gum is the official successor to Top Sun Card.

Hi there! I’m from Japan. I actually just discovered a large number of these cards while going through some old boxes at my parents’ house! My search for information led me straight to this thread.

The cards I found have the “Top Seika” logo, glow in the dark (Luminous), and are from the Diamond & Pearl era—so they share the same DNA as the ones discussed here. However, the card designs are slightly different, so I’m currently trying to gather as much info as possible.

Does anyone happen to know more about these specific design variants? Sorry for the sudden question, but I’d really appreciate any insights!
