Is this PSA slab real?

I think the card looks close enough to the PSA scan and the holo pattern isn’t like the fakes one I’ve seen so the card looks good to me. But the slab itself looks very unlike the scan. Some points of comparison: 1) Look at the gap after the last digit 9 in the cert nr and 2) The position of the first letter “I” in Illustration compared to the barcode seems different between them.
Am I being paranoid or are the labels not the same?

It is not, there are small differences in the font that give this away.

Right? So I’m not going crazy. I pulled out a few other of my slabs and compared to their PSA scans and they look identical. But this label is just too off

It does seem convincing at first glance but here’s what I noticied:

  • The barcode ends halfway below the second “L” on the real copy but ends near the beginning of the second “L” on the fake label.
  • The 4s, 9s, and 1s are slightly different between both labels.
  • The “1” for the grade is lined up too far left on the fake label in relation to the “M” in "MT"above.
  • The “1” of the cert is further left in the real label.

These differences in font and alignment are hard to tell but the PSA logo in the center features smaller PSA logos in the grey rectangle. Only the logos on the left or right half should be visible at once with normal lighting but in the photo you clearly see the logos on both sides which is also typical with fake labels. edit: you can get the logos to show on both sides at the right angle but still something to look out for..

My god these fake are getting good. The alignment of the 0 in Gem Mint 10 and 9 in the cert number is the major tell.

Yes I am convinced. Will report this to ebay and cancel the order. Let’s see if ebay cares enough to do something about it.

Also, the peaks and valleys of the holo border are almost the exact same as they are in the scan. It’s probably just the scan printed out, maybe with minor contrast editing. You’d have to be some sort of god to get your lighting to illuminate the holo in the exact same way as it’s illuminated in the scanner.
