Dear members,
I would appreciate your opinion on this pack which I am almost sure was resealed. The main problem I see is the inconsistency in the line of the crimp, then the crimps are uneven and the touchfeel is different in one area, then it seems there is a heat sign. Please help me out inspecting this before I proceed.

The only way to know with certainty is to open it up. That said, I would be shocked if many people were resealing Base Set 2 these days.
@dyl I mean, in the year of our lord, 2025, would you really be shocked? 
There’s a vintage holo charizard. Really doesn’t seem that crazy some people would reseal base set 2.
I cannot speak for the crimp but for the odd warping of the wrapping I also personally experienced it on a BS2 pack from a Walmart mystery box. But I opened it and it was a very normal pack with a very normal Itemfinder 
. Also for Base Set 2 you may already know but 21.0 can be light.
You get this appearance when heat is applied to the foil wrapper either in a manufacturing defect or reseal. I ran a few experiments on old wrappers I had to see what it would look like. In particular 1999-2000 USA packs.
From my experimentation, it is incredibly hard to do a reseal. For starters, most packs do not open cleanly to where you could even reseal it.
Then you need just the exact temperature to heat the wrapper without melting it or very obviously distorting it.
One thing I have noticed is that if I apply any heat, even without any noticeable effects of resealing, the pack will start having a much more iridescent appearance. You can look at the pack in light and see it right away.
I would guess yours is just some kind of manufacturing defect. I own a few which I believe are defects and look the same.
Not super scientific but I heated up a flat knife, and pressed it into the vintage seal. There may be much better methods.
Too much heat:
Basically no heat, top left has the iridescent/oil slick/rainbow appearance and crimp lines fade slightly.
Thank you all for your feedback. I had claimed the item as potentially resealed, but it now seems most likely that the pack was factory damaged. The main lesson here is how photos can be misleading — the original image and description did not indicate this issue at all. All the best. Case closed.
