No I think the magneton went too high. That magneton was too off center for me to be comfortable paying any more than psa 8 price. The seller msged me and asked if i was interested in buying it because he said that the buyer of the magneton said “his kid bid on the auction”.
10 with that wear on the back? Be realistic with your expectations… If it was 10 worthy I can guarantee people would have bid that up wayy higher. I think it looks Mint, but these dark pictures don’t show the holo too clearly so you just never know. Good luck!
Personally, I would be very surprised if it pulled a 10, the centering (top-bottom) is off, there is some edgewear on the back, and Base Chansey is notorious for holo-scratching under light. It could get a 9 . . . though it’s tough to say without clear pictures of the holo surface. Best wishes though, it’s an awesome card nonetheless and will likely increase in value over time regardless of the grade.
Yeah that holo is a scratch magnet and these pictures just don’t show enough for me to be that confident it’s getting a 9. A couple light scratching and you’re probably down to a 8.
That guy grades a lot of cards, if he thought it was a 10 I think he would have sent it in. He was probably hoping people thought it would be a 10 and get in a bid war even though he knows it would score lower.
Im not saying its 100% a 10 however I think that the wear on the back isnt even close to being a sufficient reason for a downgrade to a 9. Its doesnt ruin the look of the back at all. Idk recently ive seen psa 10 with tons more wear on the back that have gotten tens.
I’ve also seen 9s that look a lot better. If you assume ungraded cards you are buying are going to get 10s, you’re in for disappointment. It’s very easy for a camera to miss a scratch or a bit of damage. Not to say you did bad here, this is just a high-risk, high-reward purchase. But based on what you have said in this thread, I think you are a bit too confident and are blinded to the risk.
Ya probably. I didnt think about possible scratches on the holo. The thing is based on the psa 10 in my collection this one looks better then some of those. Also i wasnt willing to pay more than psa 9 price anyway.
You got it for a price you’re comfortable with, so that’s all that matters. You paid between 8-9 pricing so I think you did alright. We’re just advising you to be careful because I see people overpay on ungraded cards pretty much every day and I just don’t understand it. If these individuals are going to drop top dollar, why not just buy the card already graded?
Lol i wont rub it in your face. You def have some good points that i didnt think about. Im relatively new at this whole thing so you live and you learn i guess. But ya ill def post it when i get the results.
I think an 8 grade. Reasons being bottom heavy, tiny edgewear, possible scratch on the left side near top in one of the photos. Also looks a couple tiny scratches on the holo in the last picture near chansey left of head.
I would say this card is mint though, which is a 9 grade.
Regardless I think you got what you paid for and is about the right price. Depending if you grade and what it gets then that will add or take away a few bucks to its overall value if sold.
I don’t know, I have seen plenty of nines that wouldn’t hold a candle to this.
However, i’m not giving my opinion because I can’t tell if in the pictures the card is in the sleeve or on the sleeve (on the front pictures).
