How would you tell that these cards are fake?
These are probably the best fakes I’ve seen. They are just shown in quick videos and perhaps would be more obvious in real life but the cosmos holo foil looks worryingly spot on.
Would the best way to tell be by looking closely for the hex print pattern?
I think this, if it had the base 2 set icon, number and didn’t have the 1st edition stamp, would fool a lot of people
I looked at some of the still images in their shop, and you are right, these can fool plenty of newer collectors. The feel is the biggest tell. I remember holding wotc factory printed cards that lacked a holo layer and noticed the difference. You’d be surprised how something so subtle is significantly noticeable. But these will definitely fool someone new to the game.
Saturation looks off for most, and font is blurrier than on a real card. But I can totally see how these will fool newbies.
Font is off, holo is too reflective, holo pattern is off. Surface matte is also wrong.
It harder with the shaking camera but on a still frame it’s easy to tell
