How Many Instagram Users Do You Have

Exactly right, it’s also important to be involved and follow other people/message people.

If you have the new iPhone quality or better you are in the clear. I don’t post every day but when I do it’s a really nice item and it’s a high quality image or video. For example I could post an average pic every day or post a really high quality picture that I know will go ‘viral’ with some good hashtags

I’m @luxury_pokemon_cards if you ever want to follow me  I follow back

Engagement is a much better metric than the number of followers an account has. I only started posting on Instagram a few months ago and have now started to see small conversations being had on some of my more recent posts which is great as it shows people are enjoying the content I’m posting up.

My tips for Instagram would be to:

  1. Stick to some sort of theme - let your followers know what to expect from you.
  2. Engage with the accounts you follow, but don’t follow people just because they’re following you - follow the accounts that you want to be seeing content from.
  3. Describe what you’re posting and why you’re posting it - if you’re posting up that chase card you’ve been going after for years and tell your story, that makes a great talking point. Posting it up with nothing but a wall of hashtags will push away any discussion.

Picture quality helps, but you don’t need some top of the range phone or camera - you’re posting to a service which hosts minified square photos designed to be looked at on tiny screens. As long as the subject of your picture is in focus and the text and any holo patterns are visible, you’re doing a good job.

I’ve had two different instagram’s, I used it for like a month each time and then deleted them. I’ve thought about making one for pokemon, but have not pulled that trigger. So I’m sitting alone at non existent haha.

I thought it was 131k? what happened? did you get canceled?

600 been active for three years.
Met a dozen or so in person, great people great community. Occasionally I’ll tag my location in a post and flush out all the locals, they’d be like “Your in SD! Let’s meet up!”
Nice to put a face behind the #InstagramName

My personal is like 1.4k and I’ve had it since like 2013 or 2014… I used to post a lot more than I do now, though. And I haven’t kept up with my collecting Instagram. I’ve fallen off the train!

Set up a nice little photo station in a corner in one of your rooms. start taking photos of everything you have. single cards. packs. boxes. stacks of packs and boxes. psa cards. build up a nice “spank bank” of pokemon and post a photo every day or every other day at 5pm PST.
Use some hashtags. Get a few shoutouts from leonhart and anthony padilla. youll be big in no time.

Depending on your intentions with instagram, there are different strategies to go about it.

I’m sitting at 3,495. The majority of those I got in 2016/2017 when I was at the height of my collecting. When I had to buy a house and my daughter was due I sold off the majority of my collection (R.I.P. PSA 10 Master’s Scroll that I sold on here for $1,850) and stopped posting. I recently have begun getting back into it, slowly. With a young family it is a lot harder to justify dropping big money on cards. Back when I first started on Instagram it was almost like a high when a post would get a ton of likes and my follows would increase. I realized I was just putting on a show sometimes, and that isn’t what originally got me into cards. It wasn’t about the highest dollar cards, it was about what I liked. I don’t care much anymore about how popular a post or my page is. I’m just in it for what I like, the fun, and the awesome people I’ve met along the way.

I don’t really understand all that very well, but somewhat. I appreciate your attention.
My intentions are I’ve gotten dozens of request to have an IG and a few weeks ago when I looked into it, it turned out I already had one with a hundred people already signed up, even though I’d never posted anything. So I decided to post a picture at least each day and now there’s over 400,
My goal is to not waste their time. They are taking up their valuable leisure time to look, like and comment. I don’t want them to be sorry they did.
Based on feedback, it turns out many really enjoy what I’ve done so far so maybe others will too. So making it accessible to more people may be a good thing to do. I just don’t know how.
It’s kinda like how I feel about a website. I have tons of stuff I could make available but I just can’t do it alone, though I would love to. You all have to remember, when I was a little kid we didn’t even have a TV set. Everybody on the block would gather at our one neighbors house who had a tv to watch a show. You guys were brought up with satellites on your roofs and a tv in every room;)
The point is, I need in person help,

I’m sure you could find loads of people on here willing to relocate to Vegas to be your assistant and help out

My personal has barely any as it’s kept private, for my business I have one around 23k and my Pokemon account I have 2300 followers with a little over a year on it.

I certainly can’t speak for others, but as a follower of yours already I will say that I’ve been enjoying your posts - the images are great, give or take a few bloody fingers - but I would enjoy them a lot more if they came with more detailed descriptions about what is being shown. As an example, your uncut sheet post recently is great, but I have no idea what those cards are and would love to read some sort of back-story about how you came to owning that. “One of my authentic uncut sheets:)” is all well and good, but it doesn’t really say much about the picture.

That said I know a lot of popular Instagram accounts have success with very minimal descriptions. I know a few users here who place nothing more than a “.” followed by a load of hashtags and that works well for them.

The more I talk about it, the closer I am to making an account. Maybe I’ll go get that light box first. Any recommendations? Or will any be good?
