Conclusion, they are waterproof for a short time in cool water. They are not waterproof in hot water, water was in the case damn near instantly. I assume the hot water makes the adhesive they use loosen up and water then gets in. The cool water test never actually had water get in the case, so i will be leaving it for a few hours to see if it does over time. Video to follow, now we know! lol (don’t worry they were some psa 7 old worthless promo cards)
I believe if you have an air con in the room you store your collection in you can leave it going on days that get above 20 degrees Celsius. It kinda works like a fridge lol.
Obviously keep away from sun light and fluorescent lights to prevent UV damage. I keep a rather large manga collection where its obvious to tell which volumes are ones I got from conventions/stores to buying from book depository.
Store bought and convention bought tend to at least some form of yellowing while online are perfectly white yet some do have spine damage from shipping.
