Almost happened to me 2 weeks ago. Finally sold some cards to purchase a PSA 8 1st Ed Base Set Venusaur at the price it was selling consistently for 2 months. Right when I’m ready to buy, the price doubles up. Yeah, it was disheartening but I just refocused my goals and moved on.

I’m not burning out of collecting itself, but what I’m burning out of is reading all the stonk and market conversation. It’s not fun for me and I’ve been ignoring E4 Discord a lot lately for those reasons.

Clear budget, clear goals.
Don’t buy just to buy. Don’t buy to flip. Don’t buy as investment.
Adapt to the market and enjoy what you already have, as simple as that for me.
