I got these cards a ling while ago but I do not know much about them. I was told they are Japanese vending cards. Any info.about them would be helpful. I sent them in to be graded but without any info, they dis not tag them or grade them. I have been told they are possible promo cards? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
The first two images are the front/backs?
Yes. 2 cards are what is shown. Front and backs
These look like bootlegs. The copyright has a squished appearance as if the character spacing wasn’t natural. The logos are strangely proportioned and differing in size between the cards. Just some red flags, but I will be curious what others can find.
I agree. The art being taking from a strange set of sources is also odd. Plus if it was a meiji promotional item, there should be more documentation
I too agree with all the facts stated earlier. To add a concrete photo, those Sugimori artworks aren’t something that are commonly used in meiji products but instead in bandai carddass releases like this. Neither companies also have used font or logo style like that pocket monsters one
These aren’t even good bootlegs.
Meiji generally had good designs because they weren’t small and had proper design teams. They could do this because they had (have) a lot of money.
Some trivia most people don’t know: In Japan, Meiji sponsored the anime series since it started in April 1997 through until 2013 (“Meiji Dairies” and “Meiji Seika”).
