Hi there,
Not sure if this has been covered before but wouldn’t really know how to find it. Wanted to get thoughts on how PSA views the white dots/fraying on the corners of Pokemon Cards these days. Seems these QC has fallen off a cliff in the SV era and most cards I review for grading tend have frayed corners/tiny white dots in the corner. I was wondering if anyone had success subing these for 10’s or if thats like an Auto 9 if subbed. Can it be overlooked depending on the severity? If the rest of the card is perfect but there is a frayed corner is it auto 9?
Any and all feedback welcomed!
Idk if the pictures make it look worse, but I would say more likely a psa 7-8

yeah under that much magnification even the tiniest flaws look absolutely terrible haha I was more just specifically asking about about the corners and if there is a tolerance when it comes to those because 80% of the cards I tend to see these days have issues there
I don’t think the lips alone would cause the grade to drop, but whitening absolutely will. I’ve found there is some leniency on 1-2 corners having tiny white dots, but 1 corner with a large white dot is almost always an auto 9.

This isnt the PSA of old. They are brutal now
A single white dot in corner usually cuts grade
Fraying even minor in corners destroys the score to a 7
