Government Regulations Against Botting (USA)

Very interestingly, President Trump just signed an executive order to discourage the act of botting on the reselling of Music Tickets.

It sounds like there will be fines to TicketMaster/other ticket sites and or selling limits on the secondary market if botting isn’t addressed or handled correctly.

Don’t know exactly what they will implement, but it is interesting that the government has to step into a marketplace to ensure fairness.

When I first heard about bots, it was with the astronomical amounts certain music artists tickets would sell for on the secondary market. then it leached over into the sporting event scene, sneakers, and in recent years, everything else with limited quantities as some people turned it into a livelihood.

It will be very interesting to see (If successful) if there will be a wide span crack down on botting across all marketplaces including Pokemon and other limited quantity items.

I know this is somewhat far-fetched due to how enforcement would go about cracking down on this, but the first recognition of discouragement is interesting to see from the U.S. Government.

This thread is SPECIFICALLY on the topic of Government intervention with botting.

This topic is only to be discussing this and nothing of the sort of who is making these calls.
