Gold Star Gyarados Holo Bleed "Ghost Holo"

Hi everyone, I bought this Gold Star Gyarados recently and noticed that it has holo bleed over the entire card. There is a definite shine on the yellow borders, the green background and the body of the card where the text is. It is kind of difficult to capture in a photo but I tried my best to show it in the photos I attached. Everything seems to check out about the card being real and the PSA scan of the card matches 100% with the card I have.

I couldn’t seem to find any information about gold star holo bleed besides one post on the CGC website here: Would this just be considered holo bleed? - Ask CGC Cards - TCGs & Non-sports - CGC Comic Book Collectors Chat Boards

I’m just looking for more information on this, such as if anybody else has come across this before on a gold star, how rare it is, etc.

All gold stars have a holo pattern that bleeds around the text box. This is partly why they are so difficult to properly fake.

This specific type of holo treatment (e.g., :goldstar: in EX Holon Phantoms, EX Dragon Frontiers) does bleed onto the Pokemon/background and the art box, around the text box, and occasionally on the yellow borders.

So no, not an error. I hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply, just to be clear I’m not referring to the normal holo pattern seen on gold stars. This has holo bleed throughout the entire card. But if that full holo bleed is a somewhat normal occurrence that is good to know!

What I see from your pictures is not particularly unusual.
