Just a thought: I think subgrades should have subgrades. For example.
SURFACE 9…
front 9
back 8.5
CORNERS 9.5…
front top left 9
front top rt 9.5
front bottom left 9.5
front bottom right 9.5
back top left 9
back top rt 9.5
back bottom left 9.5
back bottom right 9
EDGES 9.5…
front top 9
front bottom 9.5
front left side 9.5
front right side9.5
back top 9
back bottom 9.5
back left side 9.5
back right side 9.5
CENTERING 8.5
front left to right 8
front top to bottom 9
back left to right 8.5
back top to bottom 8
Plus, I think they should break the grades down to .1/4s. So a weak overall 8.5 should be an 8.25 and a strong 8.5 should be an 8.75,
Finally, every case should have sub-sub grades broken down to quarters too. So the plastic case could look like:
SURFACE 8.75…
front 9.5
back 8
CORNERS 9.5…
front top left 9
front top rt 9.5
front bottom left 9.5
front bottom right 9.5
back top left 9
back top rt 9.5
back bottom left 9.5
back bottom right 9
EDGES 9.75…
front top 9
front bottom 9.5
front left side 9.5
front right side9.5
back top 9.5
back bottom 9.5
back left side 9.5
back right side 9.5
CENTERING 8.25
front left to right 8
front top to bottom 9
back left to right 8.5
back top to bottom 7
CGC already has a ginormous blue label to accommodate the above specs but PSA and BGS would have to adjust their label measurements.
Now would everybody be happy? Those who think it’s excessive could eliminate the plastic case grades or the 1/4 breakdowns. Others may want subgrades for the sub sub grades.
Well, that’s it for my “just a thought”. Hope it was mind opening.
Greets,
Gary
