Hello guys and welcome to another big day. It’s the fire base form starter finale. With a good fight charmander secures the bronze medal and leaves the competition. So our finalists are Torchic from hoenn (consecutive hoenn representer same as treecko in previous finale), and Cyndaquil from johto (first johto representer in finale). Last finale we saw a winner from kanto which is Bulbasaur, but now the winner comes from other region. So one last time in fire base form starters eliminate the one that should settle in second.
I had a thought that it would be an interesting idea to also have the final as a first vote i kinda like the idea that i think which one of them i like the best instead of finding flaws and negative things to choose one to vote, i don’t really hate chimchar that much but it’s the one i like the least that evolved into ferocious rooting to get it out that would naturally take the climax out if the best one would be determined in the beginning but just some thoughts i wanted to share, nevertheless these have been fun to follow!
well i do got this opinion when i first wanted to post the bulbasaur and treecko finale but i just want to go with the similar procedure beginning to end. I did because of the same reason as yours we actually find flaws to eliminate them and i want to know which is flaw less (that’s completely not possible) or having the least amount of flaws. This will give me few interesting views of why few people doesn’t like a pokemon which i adore or vice versa.
Anyway every pokemon is always good it’s just the way I am engaging with others but never a way to say this thing is not a pokemon
I think it’s best to keep the final one an elimination like the other rounds. With threads like these, I for one am not reading the OP post every time a new poll-thread is posted (sorry OP), so if every thread is an elimination, and the final one is the opposite of that, I think it will only confuse the potential voters.
Unlike the Grass-Type polls for which I had a completely different elimination order, this time the elimination is mostly how I would eliminate them myself, except for some minor differences. My order would have been: Scorbunny < Tepig < Fuecoco < Chimchar < Litten < Fennekin < Charmander < Cyndaquil < Torchic.
I agree that most people probably aren’t reading the full post by the finale. Keeping it consistent helps keep votes consistent in intent
As for my personal order:
Scorbunny → Fennekin → Tepig → Fuecoco → Charmander → Chimchar → Cyndaquil → Torchic
I think if Tepig just didn’t have the bottom half of its design be randomly brown, and if it had a different mouth + eyes then the design would probably be third for me
I think people are misreading my post, i was basically throwing out the idea to vote for the best first when the whole group of candidates is still there, so determening the best one first, then second best etc, not changing the voting system only for the finale. Not really suggesting the system should be changed that way as this has been fun but was just comparing the negative/positive aspects of different voting systems.
Ah, then I’ve indeed misread your post, mb. I thought you only meant to swap it for the final two-votes round.
As for reversing the entire voting order for all threads, going from best to worst. I don’t really have a preference either direction in that case tbh, although there defintely would be a difference. Because in the first round the votes of everyone will be divided among nine (gen) options, whereas with the final vote it would be split between just two vote options. But whether it would be preferable to have a 50-50 split vote for the best or worst of the current ‘voting fight’, I honestly don’t know.
