Fanatics Auction vs Z&G Auction (eBay)

Related Z&G question - how do I get paid? He auctioned two cards for me and about a dozen buy it nows. The auctions ended last week and the buy it nows could have been bought last week or still listed. Will he just send me an email and ask how I want paid? The website isn’t very clear and I’ve never used him before. TIA

Paypal F&F typically, on the Monday 8 days after the auctions end. You can also ask for wire or check although i think wire has a fee. Email James and tell him how you would prefer it. If not, his wife Lauren will send you an email asking at some point

Does Z&G only do consignments for Muricans? I am not Murican

Nope, I successfully used ZandG.
Just had to pay the shipping over there.
Z paid out in a Wise transfer (I created a Wise account for this transaction). You can request what currency you want as well.

@Ashcaughtem1988 I believe in the letter you include with your package you have to specify how you want to get paid. Lauren reached out to me and I agreed to do a Wise transfer.

Hmm Wise. I do use it a lot for traveling internationally but I’m not big on the idea of keeping a lot of money there due to what I’ve heard about how long it can take to transfer back to your bank.

I get why Z&G would use Wise as fees are lower but do you (or anyone) know if Ebay or the major auction houses accept payment from wise like they do PayPal?

I am unfamiliar with that.

I transferred the full amount back to my Canadian bank account a few days after the transaction went through.
But it seems like wise is in a sense, a bank account. So I think you’d just be able to hook it up to eBay like a regular card.

But like I said, I don’t have any experience with that so not sure.

Ah ok, that’s great! I know the transfers from my bank to Wise have been almost instant for me but I had heard the opposite for transfers back.

Thank you both for the anecdotes @mthursty

Fanatics is good for high graded liquid cards, meaning things that are well known or popular. I have found that niche stuff doesn’t do as well on there and a lot of big sales are 10s and sometimes a 9 here and there.

ZandG has a great outreach. You’ll probably get at least fair value for your stuff there and don’t have to worry about returns or non payers for the most part.

did you put the payment method on a piece of paper in the package? if not he will prolly email u

This is all his website says -

Put your graded cards in a box, along with a slip of paper inside with your name and email address.

I will look for their email on Monday. Thanks everyone

How does that work with import fees? I have about £10k worth of cards that I’m thinking of sending to Z&G

I asked James, they’re currently not accepting consignments from EU because of the tariffs :frowning: I imagine it’s the same for the UK
