Ex Era Thread?

Hey guys, I remember there was a really good ex era thread back in 2020 - is there still an active thread that talks about prices of psa 10 ex cards? I grew up with ex cards and there’s so many of them - so much fun just getting lost in them all!

That thread was a lot of work for @randox to maintain, and with sales tracking sites being more prevalent, think the tracking aspect had limited value.

There was a PSA 10 gold star price tracking thread that devolved (some bias from my end) into more of a gold star hype and debate thread, with reduced focus on price tracking.

That said, with TCGFish being officially unsupported going forward, curious if there’s another easy, reliable, site out there to track values. I don’t think the data quality is there to say price charting or collectr are viable options.

Very true and as we have seen recently, the relative scarcity of the whole ex era leads to more prevelance of private sales.

It would be pretty hard to maintain a price tracking thread with any accuracy in this environment. Especially for the gen 3 sets.

A lot of sales seem to be based on market vibes these days since high grade or scarce card sales happen so infrequently

I’d say PSA 10 ex sales data is relatively infrequent, but in theory frequent enough for tracking to be done while still being accurate enough to provide value. Yeah, private sales are a thing, but they always have been. Possible the public data set would lag behind a bit, but think that’s only a problem due to how fast prices move lately, and how LaSt SoLd iS MaRkEt PrIce.

A thread would be challenging for similar reasons to the gold star thread. The internet can’t handle silence between sales anymore, and the $ values are high enough to invoke pretty strong emotional responses.

Yeah basically as you guys said above but also there’s some better apps/data out there vs before that try to track these sales. I.e collector app. And yeah the gold star thread went to shambles because ‘certain people’ didn’t want to believe in private sales data (which is all many of those cards get any more).
