very true! It costs to have the entire world with access to the internet and ebay at your feet but even still 
I responded with one word lol. You’re missing the point. In my post I said ZERO talk of outside sale was done, ZERO. Never once was it hinted at. The conversation was an offer from the buyer, me letting them know I had better offers, them responding with what’s my IG and me giving it. I didn’t even ask him to contact me there.
And in the past, I’ve had users before ask me for my IG just to keep up with me there and see my collection lol it isn’t out of the norm.

I think his point is giving your ig opens up the channel of communication for outside trading regardless of how innocent.

yea you were but as you said, the conversation was clearly for outside ebay.Iv done transactions outside aswell, as a buyer its generally cheaper hah. Unfortunately ebay dont take kindly to it, its like going into a store picking up and item that is £6 and some guy in the store with you saying…“ill sell you it for £5”
I do understand completely, however I will always complain about ebay fees etc ^.^ Its just the Yorkshire way
One makes them money and one costs them money. Unfortunate reality in life that they are going to go after the ones costing them money first, but one can clearly understand why. I am sure if Pokemon were to take it more seriously and place some phone calls in to eBay the counterfeit selling would be cracked down on a little more. I think top names in other market sectors have done this and eBay has cracked down in the past.
In either case, you can’t really say hey the counterfeiters are getting away with bad stuff and use it to justify doing things against eBay policy as well.
Obviously you know all this Scott, just adding in some thoughts for everyone to read.

Lol I deserve a ban so badly, I know it isn’t really a joking matter anymore, but I did like 10 offsite purchases in the month, and contacted about twice as many to do it, I am done with that though, too risky

Lol Yeh bud I’m In the same boat, have 20 + contacts on whatssapp from previous contacts/purchases but I had my first warning last week.
So that’s it for me as well lol.
Saying that, I tried to buy a base set booster box within the last 7 days and the seller wanted to do it via PayPal so obliged, paid for it and then got some bull**it from him about how he couldn’t transfer the money from his paypal to his bank and refunded me the money back, so it wss too my stress for him…
I called paypal and they said everything was fine on my end… he figured out he could make more money on ebay and backed out on our deal, it seriously pi**ed me off. Thought for a minute I was finally getting my first booster box. I should of done it on ebay, but once I paid for the goods they were mine, right there and then !
We only contacted through whatssapp, what can I do ?
Question: Would a seller be allowed to provide an Instagram or YouTube username in a buyer’s package during shipping (assuming the transaction was through eBay)?

I do this all the time. I give a card with all my contact details so they can reach me outside of eBay should they like too.

Iv’e had my instagram tag in all of my listings for well over a year now and Ebay has yet to message me or say anything about it. I think it just says something along the lines of “Follow me on instagram @pokematt_” … I’m guessing I could get a ban for that too, even though I’m not actually contacting anyone or referring to doing any sort of outside sale. After all, instagram really isn’t a marketplace (although it can be), it’s a picture collection/sharing app.
Pretty sure eBay wouldn’t allow that.
It’s infuriating… tempted to report him to ebay for sharing his whatsapp, since he done it on his own accord.
Heres a couple of his messages
“Well I will cancel in morning all this is stressing me out never had anything like this before and them saying I’m under investigation na I’m OK I’ll just cancel it in morning can’t be doing with the hassle”
“My account is under investigation when I’ve done so many transactions in the past now this either way the money is getting returned to u I’ve this this on my mind I’ve had enough can’t be doing with the stress it goes back in the bags and in the cupboards sod it”
“No you don’t understand its not for me at all it’s for my kids so I’m going to get what I can and do it the right way rather than just doing a PayPal transaction coz that’s what looked suspicious to them rather than it going through ebay”
“How it feels to be investigated ain’t good either I’m really sorry buddy but I can’t be dealing with that I’ve got a lot on my plate and have to deal with my own heath issues sorry again”
And the sob stories… how can I even respond or make him abide by our agreed upon deal now…

After reading some latest experiences of other members I find it odd I haven’t got any warnings/bans yet ( even when I’ve been really careful after @gemmintpokemon got his ban ). Only yesterday completed a deal that started basically asking from seller " hi do you still have card x that appears on your IG feed ".
