ebay buyer wants to return PSA graded card

Sick part is eBay will likely refund you from their pocket. They have done that in the past with me in this same situation so they didn’t make the buyer mad. Somehow I have only had it happen once so far, but that is what they did. Hopefully at this point with the negative history they will do an outright ban and not give the money back to the buyer. Then they will probably just go deeper and file a chargeback.

What an absolute piece of shit.

People like this is why, as a seller, you should be able to block people with less than X feedback from bidding on your listing. Sadly, you cannot do that as a seller on eBay.

Update: I have contacted ebay.
They sent me a form and asked me fill it out and to attach my video and images along with case ID, service request ID.
Ebay have escalated this case and say they will decide in 48 hours.

This dude is scamming left and right!! I can only imagine the amount of poor sellers who have refunded him because he claimed stuff never came!! :angry:

Always best to be careful. I had a guy buy an item and they had 2 feedback, said they were in the Ukraine and had a US shipping address. I contacted ebay and they said I would be protected, but while talking to them I happened to google the shipping address and saw that people are using the address for fraudulent purchases when they hack peoples accounts and such. I made sure ebay noted this on the item before I shipped it to cover my butt. I also have pics of the item, in packaging and in the box with label prior to shipping. I also made sure to add signature confirmation and I sent a message to the buyer detailing my concerns about possible fraud and told them I contacted ebay prior to shipping the item to cover my butt. There seems to be more and more fraud taking place on ebay these days so be very cautious and do everything you can to protect yourself from losing items, money or charge back fees.

These things make my blood boil! Makes we want to buy the house next to his and make his life miserable!

Update: Ebay has closed the case.

I don’t think this was a fair solution but at least I got my the funds.

So that dude just made off with a PSA card and his cash back?..

Hi. I understand the video can do much but I am afraid to release it onto the web as it does contain a lot of personal information and I have no knowledge regarding video editing to remove the audio or blurring. Please understand this.

However I can provide you with these details from my resolution center and emails ebay have sent to me and the pictures of the item the buyer sent me.

This is the entire conversation I had with the seller through ebay messages once the buyer filed the return claim

after calling up 8-9 customer support reps, one told me to fill out a declaration form and to also attach my images and video to this link through a email they sent me.

after I sent it back, the case was closed.
I can confirm that I did receive the funds but on my seller dashboard it says that a refund was provided.

You hear about people doing this with non tracked packages, but this is crazy. Also heard about this with cell phones. Makes me worry.

Final Update:
Here’s how the case went.

This is the entire conversation I had with the seller through ebay messages before the buyer filed the return claim

This was the picture he gave me and the picture he used in the return claim
and the return claim was accepted

The return claim said that I can close/dispute the return claim if the item doesnt arrive on the 26th.
The buyer sent the item on the 21st but never uploaded any tracking number for me until 2 hours before midnight on the 25th.
I received the item like this the next morning:

I filmed myself opening this package and read everything out loud from the senders address to my address, tracking number, and what I feel was wrong because the package seemed too flimsy for slabbed card. I also read and showed my utility bill and proof of address to prove that the recipient is indeed myself. I also had my reception person who received the package prove the address by showing my house leasing agreement. The video was uncut and me talking in the background and also in front of the camera.

after I sent it back, I called ebay customer support again and they would close the case in my favor.
I received the email but was surprised what ebay did

I can confirm that I did receive the funds but on my seller dashboard it says that a refund was provided However I was never paid back the $2.7 I paid for the return label for the buyer.

I contacted customer support again and say they filed a report through my account regarding this buyer so they could have it on file. They copied and pasted what I had wrote in the submission form earlier along with the declaration and video.

(i know it says seller on the second sentence, I contacted them already and they helped me correct it to buyer)

and finally they restricted any feedback that can be made by me or the buyer on this case. which I recieved this email and this status in my resolution center

I got the money, paypal released the hold on my account, so I am happy but not really satisfied that the buyer got off the hook.

I was quite frustrated with ebay as well because I did have to call them more than 8 times for them to pass me onto a dedicated specialist for my case. I was so paranoid because when I filed the claim, I got a email saying my documents did not upload so I wanted to confirm with someone if ebay received the documents images and video on their end. Initially they didnt cause of technical difficulties but after resubmitting they went through.

Once the dedicated specialist was assigned, I was able to reach him every time I called ebay with a Service Request code they provided me so many thanks to him.

The ebay specialist for this case said although in the email I recieved it says ebay will be refunding the buyer themselves, ebay did this to exclude me from the case and ebay will want to confirm things with the buyer before refunding them.

I am the only who noticed that once every couple of weeks, he accuses a random sellers of not delivering an item/ or delivering it damaged. Almost every complaint is followed by a refund claiming it’s been six weeks to two months or something like that. It’s weird because his reviews are usually followed up by him calling out the seller a scam which probably prompts the seller to quickly “make it up to him”. Who the hell waits for 6 weeks to two months to all of the sudden contact the seller? One seller actually called him up by saying in the follow up review that “I’m being scammed by buyer”.

I tried to do a little homework on the dude and I actually had some difficulty finding stuff. The only conclusion I can come up with is that is some piece of shit who lives with his parents.

EDIT: I would keep an eye on that seller, that card will be for sale soon, either on his account or another one. Can you post the serial of the card and the details of the card?

You don’t have to upload the video, the messages and background check on the individual are more than enough. This person is a cut and dry scammer.
