Hey guys- thank you for the concern. That picture was a later one; I did get one in the initial messages with the full, matching certification number visible. All around annoying situation but you win some you lose some, I guess!
I know this is an older thread, but I really just wanted to pop in and add to what genosha said: If it’s confirmed a proxy is being used Ebay will immediately close their case if you call them. It’s against their buyer protection rules. Might be too late if you’ve accepted their return, but something to keep in mind for the future!

Ebay might close the whole situation because of the middle man thing. Also when ebay forces a return they make it so the buyer and the seller can not leave feedback so he cant give you a negative. I would call ebay and see what their plan is. Definitley dont accept the return.
