To the 3D contestants already signed up, and all prospective contestants, a clarification was made to the OP regarding your category.

We must be using assets from the video game franchise ONLY, with regards to your featured Pokemon.

We have concluded that since it wasn’t 100% clear, we are going to allow backgrounds only to be able to be either fully or partially original. Partially original meaning altered backgrounds from the games with original assets added or made use of through alteration.

Contestants are of course welcome to use entirely pre-made backgrounds (copy and paste style) from the games if that was still their initial plan. Background is not a criterion in judging in your category, so this will not hinder you, should you choose to go this route.

I will include an example:

You can twist, contort, manipulate assets found in any official game / spinoff that serve as part of your background.

For backgrounds, you can do any of the 3:

1.) Copy and paste background from the video game franchise, and place your Pokemon (remember, a Pokemon asset exclusively from the games) somewhere within it compositionally, as if it were a photograph.

2.) Altered video Pokemon background, from as little as copying and pasting said background and adding or moving assets, to as much as having a “template” from the games and going nuts on it with additions, alterations, adding in original assets created by you. The only things you can copy from the internet are assets used in the games. In theory you could use assets from every Pokemon game ever made and add them all in to the background.

3.) Fully original computer rendered background.

For folks confused as to how to send submissions, we’re discussing it now. For now, hold off on submitting since we haven’t entered that period yet. We’ve realized a few kinks that we’re working out so please be patient. Apologies for the confusion!

Unfortunately, the account age rule cannot be bent. This is because there would be nothing stopping people from creating new accounts to submit more entries and votes. I encourage anyone who is disappointed by this rule to take part in engagement on the forum to enjoy the full benefits of what E4 has to offer.

Also on that note, if this event meets a lot of success, there’s a good chance that we’ll do another one next year and make it a thing, so be sure to sign up for next year!

Sorry this thread must have been edited since I last read it. Last time I checked, it said updated and now accepting submissions?

I saw some pictures in here so I thought people were submitting.

We have to make one more change. We must wait until submission period begins to submit art. Please wait until sign up period ends.

Also, please read the rules before posting. The rules clearly state and have always stated that you must indicate you are in by signing up. You are very welcome to do so! Hopefully that answers your question @pokenoob .

We just realized we have to wait, as this is getting crazy with people subbing during sign up. Something we didn’t anticipate. Also, in retrospect, it was realized that this might discourage people from entering from their category of choice, and that is the last thing we want.

We will either be creating a gallery ourselves, or sticking to the original plan of posting them to the 2nd post below the OP for viewing, once submission period begins.

Please stand by for a final revision indicating the method in which submission will be taken. We will either decide to keep it the same (submit in this thread freely AFTER signup period ends), or submit thru PM and we post for you.

@liron , @fiery , we apologize that you had to be the guinea pigs for this in many ways. Reina Sierpe will be editing your posts to clear them for now, so we can enjoy all the art at the desired period of the contest. We are sorry about that guys! Great work so far, just hang tight 'til signup ends!
