Does anyone here have access to an elemental analyzer? There is science to be done

Can I leave a meme here?

Joking aside, I love your idea and whatever outcomes this will have

just wanted to add that whatever analysis is being done to these cards is most likely not able to find trace amounts of added substances that may be used to fake errors. This would be due to the nonintrusive nature of the test. They are looking at reflected/transmitted/absorbed rays. If these rays are being transmitted/absorbed they have a high likely hood of altering the chemical composition of the ink. So it may not be possible to tell the difference due to the nature of the test and its effect on the cards. This is something I don’t have a lot of background information in. My area of expertise is wet chemistry and it is much easier to find trace molecules and be able to differentiate them with chromatography. I can try to look up some background on this technology and edit my post with what I can find.

Edit: I know many of you will be surprised, but there aren’t any scholarly/peer reviewed articles about spectrometry and cards. Although I would like to add that if you search pokemon in google scholar there are quite a few interesting topics, but beware not all journals are created on the same terms of integrity and scientific method. i.e. don’t believe everything you read just because it is on google scholar

Awesome, thanks for the info. Thankfully I’m only looking to see what is present in the cards before they are altered. I decided it was cheaper to just buy the materials that would be used to alter the cards and try it myself to see what happens
