Did PSA alter my card?

Hey guys, i don’t really post here but might as well.. it might be a fun topic lol

I sent a 1st ed base set raichu and PSA damaged my card. I reported this, and they havent replied back to me, however, while i was waiting for the reply… they changed the scans. Thankfully, i saved the initial scans of before they graded, after they graded, and then the updated scan of after i reported it.

Initial pregrading scan:

I’m wondering if they altered the card. It can’t be lint on the same exact spot where there wasn’t any white to begin. Anyway, the card graded an 8. However, i wouldve accepted it had there been no extra damage on my card.

It was such a nice card did they alter it? Hwo is it that the dot got 80% smaller? It cant be lint on the same exact spot that never had white to begin.. What do.

You’re suggesting they coloured in 80% of the white spec?

I think it’s a scan quality difference and contrast setting of the image

I’m not making a positive claim about what happened. But if we’re comparing theories I think a difference in scanner/settings seems more plausible.

Exactly this. I’ve had this happen to me before. When the card is back in your possession the white wont look nearly as bad as it does in the scans

Are the scratches all on the card or the scanner?

Looks like the scanner… terrible QC if youre not cleaning the scanner. This just shows damage imo.

I always thought they scanned the card in the card saver, which all scratch mega easily. I assume those are on the saver?

Just send to cgc my guy..things have been a lot smoother since i started sending my cards there..

No way to know until you can actually look at the card.

They 100% do or at least the sleeve. EBay is bugging and shows the PSA scans before grading.
