Diamond & Pearl Era Error Cards

Hi, has anyone seen this error before on Diamond and Pearl era cards where the energy symbol is missing from the card?

If so, was it very common? I seem to have a lot of cards with this specific printing error.

That’s a mechanic of the cards - doesn’t need energy to attack!

It’s actually not an error. Those are intended to be like that. When I came back collecting about 6.5 years ago I thought it was a weird error as well, but people told me it was intended like that and a lot of Diamond & Pearl cards have it.

If I look at the Diamond & Pearl page on Bulbapedia, it’s very briefly mentioned as:

I never played the Pokémon TCG, so not sure how it affected the game tbh.

It’s not an error, it just means the attack doesn’t cost any energy.
