D&P, Platinum and HGSS psa

Hi, does anyone go for grading just the traditional holos in D&P, Platinum or HGSS? The pops are so low not just for 10s but just being graded in general. They aren’t the most popular sets especially when released but each set in the expansions have good cards and with the packs being cheaper than ex and wotc i think they will be the next sets to experience a big boost in pop report. My problem is i struggle to get pack fresh cards without opening boosters. Does anyone have any interest in these sets at all or are they at the bottom of most people’s favorite sets?

Mid 2000s were a low point in Pokemon card interest so there were fewer cards being bought/sold/graded. It doesn’t have the hype built up like the base/wotc sets either. There’s just not a ton of demand for most set cards

Gen 4 sets are just very low interest. If you take a look at what people on this forum collect, the split is like 79% WotC, 10% EX Series, 10% modern, and 1% everything else.

IMO, most collectors aren’t going to touch Gen 4 until they’re done with EX. Personally, I’d like to eventually collect Gen 4, but there’s soooooo much to collect in Gen 3 that I haven’t really bothered with it yet.

Yes, I graded one of these by accident.

I left the hobby in 2004, but I randomly bought some packs in 2009.
I came back in 2016 and saw people talking about “gold stars” on this forum. Also smpratte mentioned them in a video.
Of course I had no clue what a gold star was…

Well I looked through my cards, and I literally thought “Hey this is a gold star! The rarity symbol is a gold star!”

So I submitted it to PSA and now it’s part of my graded card collection. Of course now I realize it’s not a gold star. Oh well, it’s a nice card nonetheless!

I don’t really see the incentive at the moment to grade the regular holos from those sets. I’d expect the pop from Lv.Xs and primes to grow a bit more more before seeing some real interest in the holos, similarly to what’s happening with the EX era.
