[Blows dust off thread] Oh, hey. Is this thing on? I know it’s been a while since I posted here, but better late than never, as they say.
I got my October '20 submission back from Ludkins a while ago, and here are two complete luckbox hits. The unlimited Charmeleon I remember finding in a huge pile of bulk, and the Magikarp I didn’t even realise it was the double holo error until I scanned it. Better lucky than good, as they say.
I thought it was pretty darn sparkly, but I wasn’t sure how sparkly the normal version was… which makes me think the other one I sold may also have been the error. Oh well, c’est la vie… as they say.

Part of the reason I haven’t been posting much in this thread is that I started a Instagram for my collection. It’s been a while, but I think it’s been fun. Going forward, I will likely continue to use that more; it’s just so easy and convenient. I’ll still try and post any significant updates here, but posting will be much more frequent (but still infrequent) on IG. I don’t like my username so suggestions are welcome.

I recently bought a set of the Pokémon Center canned postcards, I think from 2016ish, which have artwork from older releases. I’m not mad about the matte-ish finish they have, but they are such a cheap way to get artwork that is otherwise hard to come by that I’ll gladly take it. Below are my favourites. I’m pleased with how the scans came out.
Random, but: here we have a plate I bought from Pokémon Center Japan one night. It’s smaller than I’d like, but maybe that’s a good thing. Extremely pretty.
And finally, this is a note I got from a seller early on in COVID that I thought was worth sharing.

Absolutely love those postcards. I picked up them up, as well as the 2012 Game Art postcards, earlier this month and can’t be happier. The ones that come in the tin are all done by Sugimori and they are all fantastic. I believe they were released in February of 2014. It was a little bit after the release of X&Y and these were part of an X&Y artwork collection. The Xerneas and Yveltal artworks in this set are top notch.

Let me start by saying the title does not necessarily reflect the views I hold towards the Professional Sports Authenticator, but simply a pun I wanted to make. I’ve been meaning to make an update since old E4, but partly because it was so hard to upload pictures (yes this is shade) I kept putting it off. But here we are! Hopefully this organic, not at all opportunistic use of the site will also help Team Espeon reclaim its rightful place atop the leaderboard.
I’ve been posting this so much that you might think I’m trying to sell it, but don’t worry, that’s not until next week. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention PFM graciously donating the tube for his poster so I could use it for this instead. It was honestly such a pain trying to find a safe way of carrying it around.
Here is my complete Japanese Eeveelutions gold star set (close enough/budget version):
Sadly the Jolteon is not 10-worthy, but I’m very much done chasing labels at this point. As for the 25th anniversary Umbreon, I do think the Japanese looks better than the English (as per), but it’s not the best looking language (iykyk 
)…
Luckily they never made an Umbreon PLAY promo because I’m sure would have been really expensive. As for the top 3, I’ve always preferred the WCP holo pattern to that on the PLAY promos, and I prefer the 1ED stamp, even though unlimited is significantly rarer.
Next we have some highlights from a ‘recent’ PSA sub:
The Pikachu is one I was very happy to get in a 10 (way back when I was an idiot who cared about grades, a few months ago), but really the whole sub was great.
I have also been buying movie posters (my favourite being one for the 5th movie), which I’ll try and post later. They are very beautiful but require some effort to frame/do justice.
Details of Ishihara signing:
At Worlds, it was announced that Masuda and Ishihara would be signing on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. To win a wristband for one of the signings, you had to wait in line to ‘roll’ a die (it was in one of those cups that you press to roll) and get a 6. You could try as often as you wanted… until they ran out. Luckily the heart of the dice rewarded my faith and I got it on my 2nd try.
I really didn’t know what to expect, but I was very surprised at how much Ishihara put on the poster itself. He took a lot of time with each one; I just hope my ‘arigato’/bow combo move conveyed my gratitude.
P.S. I’m very aware of the bad image:word ratio. Brevity is the soul of wit, which clearly I lack.

Yeah I can’t find a pic either, which makes me wonder where I first saw it, but it’s got this kind of sparkly style instead of the confetti style everyone else (I think) got.
There was a seller from Brazil who had one, but I didn’t have cash on me so he told me to come back the next day… and he wasn’t there😞
Maybe I’m still wearing Worlds-tinted lenses, but at this moment in time a 2004-2010 promo set seems like a good idea. PSA 9 English competitor copies are what I’m trying for. I think I prefer the yellow border on these, and I’ve never been crazy about the stamped copies. Shoutout to youngbambino for posting this in discord one night, and shoutout to The Authenticator at ebay for making sure I didn’t get sent a Weedle instead.
Unfortunately I can only look at it through my screen as it’s with PWCC, so for now it’s just been added it to my NFT portfolio 
Continuing with the posters, I was able to find this one used for the Japanese release of the 5th movie. It’s mostly transparent, and I struggled to find a piece of paper big enough to act as a backing, but I found a poster roll that works. If anyone wants a metre-wide roll of paper let me know.
Next we have some highlights from my last 
PSA submission of 2020. To be perfectly candid, I had planned to sell the non-Japanese Worlds promos, but seeing them all together it’s hard to break them up, especially since I got them from a competitor, still in the original binder. I am posting this publicly to hold myself accountable; if I do paper hands them in the next week then feel free to clown me.
The eagle-eyed among you might have noticed an extra Japanese copy. I bought that on ebay a couple years ago from a seller with a reputation to… uh… ‘ensure his buyers pay a price they are motivated to pay’… Regardless, I was glad to get it when I did.
Next we have the Latias that I sacrificed 6 Base Unlimited commons for to try and get a 10, without realising it’s slightly off-centre. I’ll be re-submitting at Express tier with a miscut LP Base 2 Pidgeot to get the bump 
For now, here are all 3 1st ed gold stars from Clash of the Blue Sky. Huh? There’s a Rayquaza? NOT two Latios?!
I knew there were several Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean ex cards in this sub, but I didn’t realise how many. I’ve had the Tyranitar, Espeon, and gold stars for a while, and this Umbreon came a couple of days ago. Lo and behold, I now have almost a complete PSA 10 set of the exs/gold stars. With price rises, I honestly never thought I’d finish this set. Is this how people complete sets? By accident?

I love this update! Those gold stars are incredible. Amazing work on the GS, SO set as well, this is one of the hardest Japanese ex series sets to finish, and getting (almost) all the ex cards and the gold stars in 10 is incredible. I have granted you the Four Star Token for outstanding EX Series collecting!

Mentally I’ve shifted away from graded cards for my collection recently; what I plan to keep graded is either at least slightly rare, somewhat hard to grade, or will look nice displayed on my desk. At some point I will hopefully include pages of my ultimate binder, but it’s far from finished. Until then:
I won this 2006 Tropical Tidal Wave on PWCC not too long ago, for what I thought was a pretty good price. However, it came after someone auctioned a bunch of other Worlds promos on eBay, including PSA 10s of 2005/2006, both of which were extremely good deals imo. I’m not sure why I didn’t go harder on those, maybe there were so many cards I got option paralysis. In any case, I wasn’t going to let this slip.
Alas, it is another card checked off the goal of 2004-2010 English competitor promos, which puts me at 3/7. I’m hoping this will cross to a PSA 9, but it might be a while before we find out.
Next we have an example (or three) of when condition collecting makes sense. These cards are not rare, but it can be hard to find mint copies. I’ve been picking them up whenever I see them and have a couple of the others, but I only have one Torchic so I‘m pleased it got a 10. I do like those cards a lot; I thought about trying to get them signed by Veronica Taylor and Eric Stuart, but I cooled on that idea. Besides, that would work better on less mint copies.
For some reason I really love these cards. The artwork is great, but details like the unique holo pattern and stamp elevate them to a new level. They remind me of the Champion Road promos. I’m missing the Lugia/Ho-Oh from the same release; while those have great art, they had a different holo pattern so I was pretty indifferent to them… Until making this post 
I recently graded this PCL; does it have a similar feel to this Pokémon Fan Club? Both PCG promos with set numbers that are multiples of 24, they’re practically the same card.

Very awesome updates. Some lovely promo cards you showcased. I can also understand why you can relate the PCL card with the Fan club card. They both have the same card layout with a lot of white. Not to mention they are Japanese Exclusive and super underrated as Promos. So, similar vibes!!

I 100% agree with this sentiment. There are so many of these trio cards on the secondary market but to find them even close near mint would be a miracle at this point.
