Many of the weaker grades will be found at auction. I’ve come across some 10s that didnt quite meet the standards for my collection. It can be challenging to sell someone a “weak 10”, even at a discount. I’ve found that auctioning is a way to let the market decide by their own fruition. Pictures are clear, plus some label buyers (we call these sports guys) will bid close to market.
It’s tough being associated with a weak 10. Almost feels like the goal isn’t complete.
