Card shops in Miami

Hello everyone!

I’m from Norway in Europe, and in June I’m going to Miami for vacation. Are there any notable/nice card shops I should be visiting while I’m there? It’s my first time visiting the US, so I’m happy for any advice. Any tips about places to visit are welcome tbh, not just card shops.

Not sure about card shops, but do grab some Cuban food in Miami Beach (or nearly anywhere in Miami for that matter), and check out the bar/restaurant at the St.Regis in Bal Harbour. It is somewhat expensive but quite an experience! Though coming from Norway, everything may look relatively cheap

Hit up Wynwood, place is covered in art so worth a look. And if you like noodles, give Sriracha House a visit

Which area of miami are you planning on spending the most time? I’m a miami native so maybe I can suggest some places closer to your route

Just off the top of my head… most people want to tour south beach but Bill Bags state park is nice beach to visit if you want a more calm relaxing time, and there’s a lighthouse there you can walk to the top of to see a pretty nice view (abt. $10 to get to the top iirc). There’s a lot of Cuban culture in other parts of Miami too, especially cuban style food.

As far as card shops I can’t recommend any at least in South Miami. The ones I know of have been pretty picked over. There’s a better chance of good ones up in Hollywood.

We’re staying at Newport Beachside Resort @ Sunny Isles Beach. Haven’t really planned alot of what we’re doing, so your suggestions sound great! All your ideas are welcome!

Sorry it took awhile to post a reply. Here’s the best places in the Miami/Keys area I know of in order descending from north (Coral Gables area) to south (Key West):

-Wynwood: Miami Art district www.wynwoodmiami.com/ Artwork, restaurants, club venues.

-Fairchild Tropical Gardens: www.fairchildgarden.org/ located 10901 Old Cutler Road Coral Gables, FL 33156 Coral Gables, absolutely beautiful old Miami since 1938.

EVERGLADES NATIONAL PARK (west of Miami) and down south to Homestead/Florida City

-Air boat rides in the Everglades National park. Just down the Tamiami Trail (U.S. Highway 41) www.airboatineverglades.com/

-Robert is Here: MM127 (Palm Drive) best milkshakes & smoothies around – robertishere.com/ West on the way to Everglades National Park

-Homestead Miami Speedway: MM 127 or Palm Drive 1 Speedway Bvld, Homestead, FL 33035
www.homesteadmiamispeedway.com/?homepage=true
March 27-29 The Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure: www.dalejarrett.com/racing-adventure/

-Homestead Bayfront Park: best access when coming from the south is Palm Drive past the
Speedway to Canal Drive, then right. Entrance to park is on left, marina to right. Highly recommended.
Free of charge:
www.miamidade.gov/parks/homestead-bayfront.asp 9609 N Canal Drive, Homestead, FL
Sunrise to Sunset

-If you’re hungry near Homestead stop by the Black Point Ocean Grill for a bite to eat. www.blackpointoceangrill.com/ It’s big time locals spot and a little off the beaten trail but worth the trip.

FLORIDA CITY south through the THE FLORIDA KEYS:

Oceanside (toward the Atlantic)
Oceanside is going to be your preferred for serious offshore fishing, and your most colorful reef
snorkeling. Dive or Fishing Boating

Bayside or Gulfside (toward the Gulf of Mexico)
Bayside also has great fishing, but in more protected waters with milder chop. Excellent fishing
among many islands and channels. The backwaters are beautiful and filled with all types of
seabirds. Boating, Kayak

Card Sound Road: NOTE: there are 2 ways to go to Key Largo, one is US1
the other Card Sound Road SR 905A. They both take approx the same amount of time within about 15
minutes. Well worth the drive, a unique perspective on the Keys most never get to see. I recommend
one drive one heading up and the other coming back.

MM = “Mile marker”

MM 102.5 – John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park:
1025601 Overseas Hwy, Oceanside (305) 451-6300
campsites available. Snorkeling, Christ of the Deep www.keyshistory.org/artchristofthedeep.html,
scuba diving, sunbathing, glass bottom boat, hiking. Fee for entry. pennekamppark.com/

MM 101.7 – Hobo’s Cafe: another one of my personal favorites. Excellent food at an excellent
price, but come early there is usually a wait to get in the door. 101691 Overseas Hwy. Key
Largo, FL 33037 (305) 451-9919 11am-10pm hoboscafe.net/

I’ll stop there at Key Largo but if you would like I can recommend much more places further south of there. You didn’t mention going this far south but I’d highly recommend it if you’re coming all this distance
