Highest is $650 for recent 9 sales on ebay
Oh ok my bad. I saw one listed for June 10th for 980.
That was international so terapeak won’t pick that up, but there are a lot of factors as to why that may have gone higher than a sale in the US. It’s also hard to discern the actual price it sold for as there could have been offers through messages.
Picture of the back over a black peice of paper would allow us to make a better evaluation of whitening on the back. Pack fresh reverse holo LC cards often have alot of surface issues on the front of the card that are hard to see given the nature of the holo.
The back matters quite a lot because this is where the most visible damage is on the Legendary Collection reverse holos. The fireworks pattern can often hide light scratching on the holo surface, so I would recommend using a strong LED light when going over it. Perhaps your pictures do not do the card justice. I agree with others that having the card on a dark surface will help us see whitening.
You came here to speak to experts, you spoke to experts who own the card, and we shared our opinions. I hope that I’m wrong and that you get the PSA 9.
Please keep us posted! Regardless of the final grade, it’s a beautiful card worth grading and displaying.
Just another person chiming in to say probably an 8/9, with an outside shot at a 10 (assuming the surface is perfect, which is a big leap of faith for LC Reverse’s).
It wont be long. I’ll repost in 2 or so weeks when i get my submission results
Thanks for all the feedback!
Best to manage expectations when grading because it can be so unpredictable. I’m building a submission now of what I think are all 10s but I expect to get all 8s. If the results come back 8 or higher I’ll be happy.
Good luck with your submission!
It really is a beautiful card
This is good advice. Never ever expect a 10.
Even on cards that are absolutely perfect, I estimate them to get a 9.
Is this classed as whitening? Or is it slight excess material from a dull cut blade? I have a few cards that have not been completely cleanly cut, and seem to look similar to this. I wouldn’t class it as damage, but it may reflect in the grade it can receive. Anybody experience similar with wotc holos?
An 8 is still a really good grade. In fact, many WOTC cards holo and non-holo are PSA 8 quality out of the pack due to manufacturing defects and other issues. I wouldn’t be too upset by it really, it’s far more disappointing to get an 8 on a much more modern card.
7 or 8
If it gets a 7 or 8 you could always crack it for your binder.
You would quit collecting Pokemon cards because a grading company employee took a few minutes and gave your card an 8 ?
Incoming from PSA
This is the one, and only, psa 10 for sale on ebay
I looked at it carefully and compared to my card. I also looked at all the 9s.
My card from the back is better than all of them and that was me being harsh. All of them have very visible whitening on the actual back of the card. any imperfection of my card is related to the cut which isnt 100% (i dont think any of these reverses are or else you would see black labels) but there isnt clear whitening to the naked eye like all of the 9s and even the sole 10
in all honesty i think this is a strong 10 candidate
I would just submit the card and make sure you post your results here for science my man. I think you have received great feedback from all parties at this point from people who are absolutely seasoned vets in this game.
You can just start a new submission, and then get an 8
Or a 7
To be fair, this applies to all grading companies.
