What would be the easiest way to start a wotc collection?
My end goal is to obtain 1 copy of each card from base set to skyridge (all unlimited for now…dont care about condition)
Right now I have:
Base Set
1/2 jungle
1/2 fossil
2/3 team rocket
And that’s pretty much it.
I’d like to be able to spend a few hundred dollars for a bulk amount of cards from varying sets, but I haven’t been able to find anything on eBay that fits that description.
If anyone knows of someone who is selling something like this I would greatly appreciate it!
If you have the capital, you can search for complete sets on ebay. If you want to start small, I would definitely recommend starting with collecting all the holos &/OR collecting all the Rare/Uncommon/Common in a set. IMO it’s too small to collect any Rare/Uncommon/Common one card at a time unless it’s 1st edition Shadowless Base Set.
You can also create a buy/WTB/WTT post-thread on the ‘buy/trade’ forum thread and maybe someone can help you in specifics if you need cards in a set.

There really isn’t any great or easy way to obtain bulk wotc that would include a variety of cards from all those sets. Your best bet is buying up local collections or doing your homework and finding which sites will give you the best deal on ordering bulk singles. This can be quite a chore but I do it all the time. Open up three+ internet tabs, one for each website/shop and just go through all the cards that you’d like individually and seeing which site has the best deal…eventually purchasing bulk from all the sites.
It’s a pain and you usually won’t save insane amounts of money, but it also beats buying up a collection where you know you have 95% of what is in it. Then again, there is money to be made using that “buyout collection” method, so it’s all a game, just do your research and learn what works best for you.
