Haha, you got that right. With the 99 out of 100 times I mentioned, the remaining 1 is usually the non-Glossy Keiji Kinebuchi version. 
But I guess that auction you won is the one exception out of multiple thousands thus far. (Your 1799/1800 is probably pretty accurate depending on the time-span.

Christmas indeed came early with your post! All of your updates are always a gift to this fourum. And this one is of course a very special one because of… Kinebuchi!! I know we share the same admiration for Keiji’s art and I couldn’t be happier for you that you have finally beaten the final boss of Don’s collecting.
Reading about the daily emails of the past 5 years was too relatable! I have been on a daily streak with certain items myself only for the past 4 years and it physically hurts checking it every morning haha! And don’t get me started on the auction nervousness and trying not to share the joy of seeing the card finally listed. And man, oh man, the LUCK with the 50$ bid, I can’t even… Everything about this story is just perfect.

Congrats on acquiring the glossy Kinebuchi! How will you cope with the loss of your daily search? 
After five years, it must be a straight habit by now. And it’s great that the journey ends with an old-school treasure-in-a-random-bulk-lot Ebay auction. Nothing better than a nail-biter with a good end.

It’s gonna be hard, but I think I’ll accept this new norm with grace and try to move on. Things will never be the same.
I have one grail left, and no biggie… it’s just trophy Kangaskhan. I’ll have it by this time next year, no probs at all
