TCA Gaming (Rusty) has a lot of great stuff. Some of his older vids and Q&A ones offer a ton of valuable insight :
Thank you, rtas!
Iâve been taking a break from videos, but I sâpose this is motivation for me to make new ones again.. I have a few vintage ideas in my brain. Definitely have more arita to cover!
edit:
@666
I have talked a lot about packaging and ltd items by Arita, specifically, but also ltd release cards.
Specifically for channels to watch, Iâll also recommend Rustyâs âTCA Gamingâ as listed above, âjoe R Vintage Pokemonâ, and âPokemon Classicsâ. The last one especially is great for introduction to new channels and videos, which he features regularly.
all this time I didnât know you make YouTube content lol, I have seen you comment on Saturninebearâs videos though
I enjoy NextGenTCGâs channel. Itâs interesting to hear gemmintpokemonâs perspective. Sadly, their videos are somewhat sporadic!
At this point I just watch 2 channels - Opossum Bud (and a couple of other ones of the same theme - just to see what kind of funny drama happened lately) and some niche boosters opening channels.
PS:
Literally everything else is cringy Poke-Investing âOmg - The Market is Crazy!!â or âOhhâŠitâs Over for us isnât it??â type of dumb clickbait thumbnails. I absolutely hate poke-youtube. Itâs very close to those âkids channelsâ with Elza and Spiderman that were on the hype a few years later⊠It gives you that eerie cringy feeling like you shouldnât fill your recommendations with that kind of stuff.
I remember clogging my recommendation/algorithms with really weird â: 000 OOO Market is crazyy! :Oâ thumbnails and it took me some time to make everything back to normal.
Some of my favourites off the bat:
Sleeve No Card Behind - Great videos explaining specific sets, specially good for those in the beginning stages of collecting, however he has a video for everyone. My favourite video of his is All Pokémon Card Back Designs Ever.
Check The Box - If you are remotely interested in watching even the slightest struggle of us, species collectors. There are some criticism, specially about not including all variants, nonetheless it is good and a digestible way to learn more about the TCG run of an specific species.
Ruby Retro - Information about old meta decks and how the TCG was played a few decades ago. So for TCG related history this is a good start.
PTCGRadio - Not sure about his current content, however this playlist is useful to learn an overview of most of the vintage sets and some stuff about the old meta too: The Complete History Of The Pokémon TCG.
The Poke Planet - Personally, Iâm not a fan of all the videos but there are some that might be worth checking out. I like this one Every PokĂ©mon Error Card Explained.
Weaboolin - Throwback videos about specific PokĂ©monâs legacy in the TCG and some information about specific events too. Good one to start: The History Of PokĂ©mon Card Illustration Contest.
Ruby Retro has had some GREAT videos. I forgot them, and couldnât find their sub in my YT account. Whoâd have guessed YT would hide accounts that youâre subbed too⊠![]()
They also havenât done a video in a while. ANYway. YES!
