Be Extremely Cautious Buying Graded Yu-Gi-Oh! cards

We have rules for a reason. You can’t scream censorship just because you aren’t allowed to insult someone at will in an online forum.

Let’s get this conversation back on track to the thread’s topic. If you have any questions about what’s allowed on the forum and what’s not, please review the rules, which prohibit any personal attacks or threatening remarks: www.elitefourum.com/t/the-rules-read-here-first/14022/1 or message a moderator.

Oh gosh. This thread derailed.

Wasn’t the whole point of the thread to warn fellow collectors about the value (or lack) of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards?

When I was flipping hundreds of YGO cards daily I saw my whole collection of Feather Duster go from ‘value’ to ‘worthless’ overnight due to the ban of the card. Before the crash I picked them up for 5-10 euro each, no matter what print. The card dropped to 1-3 euro within a week and the only thing the card had going for it, if you owned the 1st Edition prints. Those stayed at the 5 euro mark, because of 1st edition collectors.

A reprint of a card only lowers value, not playability. And YGO is all about playability. It’s nice that your deck rolls with original print, 1st edition Blue Eyes LOB at 30-50 euro but you can also run the same deck with the most recent reprint or box promo/bulk holo that goes for 10-15.

What TCPI is doing with reprinting Roaring Skies to keep the meta game going for just 3-5 months longer, keeping all the Shaymins in play is what they doing with YGO for years. Keeping meta played cards available for everybody, no matter how deep their pockets are.

Sorry for the double post, but I stumbled upon this.
It really explains why even old cards in YGO don’t gain real collectors value, only playability value.
