Any recommendations for rare Pichu or Pikachu promos?

Hi there - one of my favorite cards in my collection right now:

Pichu Promo 112/DP-P Card Exchange Promo

I’m looking to collect more Pichu / Pikachu around this time frame or older that has similar rarity / has a story like collecting points for Fan Club redemptions, promos, etc.

Do people know of any cool cards that are worth checking out?

Been perusing Bulbapedia but not sure if other resources are available.

As I love exclusives, check out the Pikachu Rain City card. Gonna be a banger from a scarcity perspective.

ooh very cool - didn’t know they had a promo for that nba game. Ah man I could’ve actually gone to that game and grabbed that promo. Bummed I missed that game last year…

Collectr has a nice visual layout for browsing and includes the 2009 Card Design Contest cards: https://app.getcollectr.com/?query=pichu.

These are cool

Pokemon Palcity Kanto promo. Contains both Pikachu and Pichu and is a Japanese exclusive unnumbered promo card. Easier to find as far as PalCity cards go and has a very great history of release.

Pichu - 038/DPt-P. Advent of Arceus commemorative tournament victory prize. I think this card is hard to come by. Has a very gorgeous Holo and a equally great stamp.

Spiky-eared Pichu 042/DPt-P. This card along with the much much rarer design contest versions were released as a part of the movie commemoration event. This card is the much more available one while the other contest cards are officially 100 only.

Michina Shrine 044/DPt-P. Not a rare card by any means but a very underrated one. It has both Pikachu and Pichu and was available in a commemorative special pack.

Pikachu 113/DP-P. Companion card for the Pichu promo you have. It was a part of several cards belonging to the ‘Collection Challenge’ subset in DP-P promo set.

This card are has 2 versions.
016/DPt-P - PCG actions points gold rank gift card. The rarer of the 2 copies. Super hard to come by and carries a good enough premium.

019/LP - PCG Action Points Gold Rank Gift Card. The more common of the 2 versions and also the more cheaper and easier to come by.

These are some cards roughly around the same time frame. There are much more promos like the Pikachu Victory medal cards (Silver and Gold) which also have a great release history. The recommendations are not super rare but I feel are really great cards to have if you are collecting Pikachu and Pichu promos. Hope this helps you get started.

Cheers!

Whoa that’s clean! That’s the first time I’ve seen an integrated scroller with a page bar. It makes a big list less intimidating

I forgot to take it out but found it useful so I left it in there. Don’t scroll too fast, otherwise it breaks

Wow I love these cards you recommended. The art / holo patterns are more of what I was looking for. Thank you so much!!! Now have to figure out which one to budget for haha

By instinct, I was awoken from hibernation to promote the obscure CLASSROOM PIKACHU (and Raichu) prize cards, only available in Japan for one month in 2012.

Bulbapedia (link): “In Japan, this card was released as one of the BW-P Promotional cards and awarded to participants of the Pokémon Card Game Classroom deck building learning events held during May 2012.”

The art was scheduled to be released in English as well:

The reason we have the image is the online card game - the physical card was supposed to be issued in blister packs, but when a different box release was cancelled, the box promos were put in the blisters instead, and the Pikachu was never released.

Additionally, in 2014, images of the Classroom promos mysteriously appeared on Pokémon.com for mere hours before vanishing in a frantic purge before nightfall, which lets us ponder about the untold secrets that still lie beneath the surface of these astonishingly awesome cards.

I’m still looking for that Pokemon Palcity Kanto card. Price keeps going up on it. :expressionless_face:
