Hey everybody this guy likes mudkips!

Okay old meme. But I can respect someone who has prioritized a wizard world mudkip. I love really weird promos.

I knew deep down in my soul that someone, sooner or later, would reference the “i herd u liek mudkipz” meme. And today is that day, haha.

I love that obscure promo and was lucky to find a good copy on Cardmarket at a very reasonable price.

Short update for my German Mudkip collection. I just went back to work after a very long vacation (7 weeks, haha), and I decided to “finish” this collection before work gets hectic again (even though, to be honest, it already is).

For my German Mudkip, I decided I’m only going to collect the non-holo and non–Black Star Promo cards, excluding the EX serial number variants. I just want to see the design and whether the Pokédex entry matches the English one (it does). Because apparently, the Indonesian Mudkip Pokédex entry from Celestial Storm is different from the English one.

I added the German Mudkip Master Set list in the OP a few weeks ago. Any feedback on the list is always welcome!

And here is my German Mudkip collection.

The next update will probably be either English cameos (only unique artwork), Japanese exclusives, the first Mudkip card in every language (with a few exceptions for very rare cards, cough Korean Mudkip Constructed Starter Deck), or just anything Mudkip-related to keep me sane.

And finally, I wish everyone a very happy Valentine’s Day! I hope love and goodness come your way!

Teeny tiny update on Mudkip cameos! I was going to update this a month ago, but life happened. For cameos, I only collect unique artwork in English. Mudkip has 4 unique cameo artworks so far, and I’ve bought three of them. The full list of cameos is in the OP, and I specifically only buy the non-holo first-print of it. I’m still contemplating whether to buy the Tropical Wind NP26 cameo, but before I knew it, the price kept climbing (though that’s true for most cards anyway).

Honestly, it feels a little strange seeing Mudkip not on a blue-background card. And for the Rocket’s Mission card, it’s quite hard for me to see the Mudkip silhouette (or maybe I just have trouble differentiating similar colors, haha).

Still, I love these cards and have a dedicated page for cameos, so the non-blue cards have their own page.

Now that the sun is finally out in Germany (at least I hope I don’t jinx it), I’m wishing everyone a warm weekend!

Update for the first Mudkip card in every language!

Ideally, I wanted to collect every language, but when I tried to collect even just the first card, I realized it was a bit… time-consuming (so my utmost respect to all language species collectors). Nonetheless, I’m happy I finished this part of the collection.

The first language I bought this year (outside of English, Indonesian, and German) was a Russian Mudkip in January. Mudkip only has two cards in Russian, and the language itself reminds me of the good old days, years ago, when my niece was still little and we watched Masha and the Bear together, haha.

Then, in February, I bought almost all Asian languages: Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. (I noticed that the first Korean Mudkip card, from the Mudkip Constructed Starter Deck, is really rare and hard to get, so I settled for the second Mudkip card.)

In March, I bought the remaining European languages: French, Italian, Spanish, and Portuguese. Luckily, during this time, a listing for a Portuguese card in EX condition appeared on CardMarket, and I immediately bought it. Also, I managed to get all the cards on this list from CardMarket, until… Thai card.

I messaged @Ratequaza asking how to buy cards from Thailand and ship them to Germany, and they very kindly offered to buy the cards together so we could share the shipping cost. When the newest Staraptor cards were released in Thailand, they asked me for the list of cards I wanted to buy (and to be very honest, I was basically blacked out when I sent the list because I was in the middle of the second day of a conference).

Mudkip only has three artworks in Thai (same as Indonesian and Traditional Chinese), so I bought all the Thai cards, not only the first one, excluding cards from deck, of course. The Thai cards arrived earlier this week, and I was (and still am) really happy about it. Also, a big thanks to Ratequaza for helping me acquire the Thai cards and complete one of my collection goals this year!

After that long story, here’s the first Mudkip card in every language in chronological order: Japanese, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Korean, Thai, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.

And a little bonus for my Thai Mudkip collection.
