Hello all, im looking for some advice.
I have the opportunity to buy a psa 10 lance’s zard for 600.
From my research this card has sold anywhere from 450 to 850 obo on ebay, but this was Pre Logan paul lol.
The population for the card in psa 10 is 236.
The only listing on ebay right now 1,200
I want some feedback from some seasoned collectors! What is the impact of this card? Does it have nostalgia? Do you think anyone would ever pay 1,200 for the card?
Basically, i want to know if im making a smart purchase or being taken advandtage of due to the current market.
I personally feel its a smart move for these reasons.
-Low pop
-Zard
-1st edition
-vintage
-awesome art work!
Some possible disadvantages
-Its japanese (nothing wrong with that besides the card getting exposure like english zards)
-Its not holo/doesnt have a holo form? Please correct me if im wrong!
I think that wraps it up! Thoughts? Thanks in advance!!
-It’s impossible to predict future price, if you like it, buy it
-For the VS set, 1st edition is much more common than unlimited
-VS set was only printed in Japanese. This means it’s the only version of the card that exists, but also that tis set never got as much exposure as say, the Gym sets, outside of Japan
-VS set is an awesome set overall if you’re looking to collect more than just the Charizard from it
It’s a first edition 20 year old card of the most highly hyped lizard in this hobby in the highest grade possible being offered to you at a discount relative to last sold while the only other one listed is double the price…
There’s people out there scamming or conning people into making unwarranted purchases, but this here has been fed to you on a silver platter YES, if you can afford it and forget about it while looking to grow your collection adding more cards to either the sets you’re completing or the variants for specific Pokémon’s you’re collecting then yes x 100000000
If it’s because you expect to cash out and flip that 6 bills into profits quickly, then absolutely not. There are high end and low pop cards and niche cards that are selling or can be acquired for almost the same price they could have a year ago…
those are sleepers like those second string RBs in your fantasy… you know they have potential it’s just a matter of time while they’re being overshadowed by that 1st string… but when it’s their time to shine… ohhh do they pop off
1st edition is the only variant for vs except for the lapras and ponyta if im correct, these cards are featured in the trainer magazine which are printed in unlimited.
Yep this Charizard is only in 1st Edition not unlimited as above says. It’s a really great card and no English version plus POP 263.
I would say buy because you like the card and not because you are chasing future profits. I bought this card for about £80 and at the time I thought that was expensive so who knows what the future holds!
Don’t forgot this may also be the only Charizard in a set that is a common card, which is kind of funny. Although given how the VS set was designed (big set with only a few holos and many commons), its common rarity can be a little misleading.
Absolutely! I guess it’s pretty safe to say that there are less copies of this ‘common’ Zard than of most of the other ‘rare’ main set Zards from the golden era.
Maybe you could get this card a little cheaper if you’re lucky, but on the other hand I have no doubt in my mind that it will be worth at least twice as much in a year from now.
I’m working on collecting VS right now and love this Charizard art. I’m more of an ungraded card buyer, so I personally wouldn’t pay that price for it. You can probably find it is great shape ungraded for a lot less if you wanted to shoot for a 10 yourself
