After looking things over, I’d be happy with Japanese eevee heroes if the alt arts were more prevalent, like in the holo spot type of rarity. That’s the only way that the set’s per pack ratio of awesomeness could equal other earlier sets. At the rate you pull them in reality, one per box roughly, idgaf.
So my end decision is definitely in EX era, many sets had amazing foils, and the reverse foils are just too darn cool.
I absolutely love e series, but the number of cards that I will enjoy pulling on a per pack basis is less than ex era with the reverse foils.
My top picks would be
Ex Team Rocket Returns
Ex Delta Species
Ex Deoxys
Of the three, probably gonna have to go with DELTA SPECIES It has so many more facets of innovation when compared to previous sets. Not all of these were approved of by the general community, but at least in my mind it made the set much more diverse while still maintaining it’s own unique identity.
I feel the novelty of delta species being introduced is what swings it over the edge for me. Seeing a fire/metal Kingdra as a kid was just too cool. It’s got the Yuka mori ditto’s. Holon’s cards that felt rarer than their rarity let on. The ex’s although scarce are excellent, the three cats. And last but not least, gold star Kyogre, Groudon, and METAGROSS! Delta species for me all the way.

Delta species is a good pick as well… Each card really is unique and it has some great holos…

Not a booster box, but I would be very interested to open some Japanese Pokemon VS half decks each having 30 cards. Pokemon VS is a very special set and Japanese exclusive. Would really enjoy opening it.

I opened each boosterbox from the start (many cases unlimited and some boxes 1st ed)
But the only thing I never opened myself was the Christmas Calendar (2008) so I would choose that one.
