Just so you know, misaligned print layers go for significantly more money than $100. You’ll probably need to up your offer significantly :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m not well versed in errors, what is their typical market?

I upped it to $200 lol

These cards come up very infrequently - there isn’t any recent sales data that I know of. The last sale that I know about was 6 years ago which doesn’t reflect the error market today in any capacity, and the sale wasn’t public.

These aren’t the same cards, but they’re the same kind of error. As you can see, the prices can go quite high.

I did a poll among some of the largest error collectors in the hobby for the specific card you posted and these were the results:

  • two people voted that they would pay $300-400
  • four people voted that they would pay $400-500

I have a modern shift on a random gen 9 pokemon nobody cares about and the offers are still about 200$ on ebay so far. I suspect a vintage, specific card request would need to be 500+ easily

That’s wild. I wish I didn’t ask lol

Asking since you’re knowledgable about errors. What layer is even shifted on the Skarmory? It seems like nothing in the art or energies are shifted. So is there just an extra black layer that’s applied (separate from the one in the art and the one for the text overlay) that’s applied just to the background to make the steel-type background darker?

As far as I know, there is a separate layer entirely - one added to give it that metallic grey sheen.

The only other card from that set that has the metallic grey is Magneton 10/64, but since it’s a holo, it would have been printed on a different sheet. Since no other cards share that layer, no other cards have the shift.

Here’s a photo that officialtcagaming posted of a partially uncut sheet.

This photo shows us that the metallic grey layer was added to the sheets with the rest of the cards, and they weren’t printed on separate sheets. I haven’t seen an uncut sheet with the Skarmory on it, so I don’t know how many of those exist per sheet, but given how few of them I’ve seen, I’m going to guess that only one or two sheets were affected.

I’ve seen it 3 times. Twice on the internet, once in person. Have not been able to secure it :frowning:
