I used to live in Brisbane but moved to Perth last year.
Check out the nearest Game Traders near you some of them have singles but would be overpriced except for commons/uncommons etc compared to eBay.
Your best bet is to look for local collectors on gumtree etc. Brisbane is barren for most things except alcohol where you can go to your local Dan Murphys and select beers from Finland or wines from Madagascar
Yeah i tried Gumtree but got a really Epic Old collection that a older man had in storage for so long super cheap

if you have a look on eBay you can get jungle and fossil booster boxes for 100-200 less than 800 usd. Unless you are referring to 1st edition boxes which sell for about that price.
