Would you consider this a weak PSA 8?

Just curious on opinions, thank you C:

For that much damage on the top and nothing else dinging the grade, it must have Kurt Kum on it. Usually surface scratches and corner wear would go together with that top edge

Looks like a very normal 8 to me, I’d be OK with it. Nice card!

It’s possible yeah, but card could have just been dropped or caught up in something on the top

I would consider it a very weak 8. I´ve seen cleaner 6´es.

If it was raw it would be LP, so a 6 equivalent. No one would call it NM-Mint

Indeed. I wouldn´t buy it, that´s for sure. The grade is one thing, but I also want to look at a somewhat clean card.

Looks like a PSA 8 to me.

Held it together for 5 days.

Yep lol… couldn’t say no to the price

Agree.

If it had more whitening on the side edges etc it would be a 7 but to be localized to just that, definitely an 8 candidate.

Triple do you make triple the money of what everyone else does?

No I don’t think I do. I’m just a peasant software engineer with no kids and my house/car is paid off, so I just have some disposable income and not much expenses other than basic utilities.

You went from unemployed to software engineer with a house and car paid off in a few years? Damn!

I always had a house/car, but I was laid off in 2024 and took me almost a year to find another role. Luckily I got a new job, the job market is still rough out here

How did you pay off a house and car in your early 20s? Teach us your ways, senpai.

I was very fortunate enough for my parents to help me with a down payment for my first house, they loaned me the money that I paid back to them last year to be able to get a house. That helped me get a place at a very early age (during college) that I was able to pay the mortgage even with internship / slightly above min wage work). I worked at Amazon my very first year out of college and I got a $50,000 sign on bonus that I put all into my house. (My house was $275k when it was purchased) and then I just snowballed and put most of my money into my house and student loans I had from college and paid my house off in 2023 and my student loans in 2024.

I’m glad you are able to have complete financial freedom in your 20s. It’s a huge accomplishment that many people never achieve in life.

With that said, I feel some basic financial literacy will help you in the long run. I was recommended “The Millionare Next Door” by @smpratte earlier this year and found a lot of wisdom within those pages. One of the take home messages was even people with high salaries and expensive homes could still be under accumulators of wealth because of frivolous spending or excessive lifestyles. I would strongly recommend it if you always feel the need to chase something new and expensive, even if it’s well within your means.

Congrats and best of luck!
