I was browsing through collectors-cache today and noticed that for some reason, an uncommon Mantyke card from the Diamond and Pearl set is super expensive. It is the most expensive card in the set excluding Lv. Xs. This is not just Collectors Cache. The cheapest copy on CC is $8 and the cheapest on ebay is $6. Does anyone else think this is bizarre?

It’s the only mantyke card printed so likely very sought after by everyone that wants to collect the full pokédex.

It is funny you made a thread about this particular card. Mantyke and a psychic energy are the only cards i need to complete my D&P base set. I have it as a saved search on ebay, but not that desperate to get it. I opened many packs of this set a long time ago, but apparently never pulled a regular mantyke. I have it in reverse holo though. Maybe pull rates are lower for this card? Especially combined with being the only regular set card of this pokemon, as mentioned above, explains the higher price.

Yeah as mentioned before it’s the only Mantyke card ever released in English. Which is really weird if you think about it… So it’s expensive as you need it for a PokeDex binder for example
