If you could have (1) Pokemon to start with RIGHT NOW, who would it be?

It cannot be an evolution nor a legendary Pokemon. It has to be a base level; you can train it however you like.

I am going Dratini. It would be so cool to have a badass slug/salamander to cruise around with. Over time hopefully, train him up to Dragonite and then fly all over. Always loved how they made Dragonite seem badass but peaceful in the shows.
