I used to go to the League during the ex era. I had an inside joke with my friends at the time that when we open a pack we get a hit of “poke” (pronounced coke as in cocaine) by sniffing the pack.
ex era pack smell is very real phenomena.

If E4 shirts ever happen, I want this in this font with a painting of a Donphan sniffing a fresh booster. You know, to make it even more incomprehensible and unintelligible to the average person as elephants superior sense of smell isn’t common trivia knowledge.

I want to open a WOTC pack now… I very distinctly remember the smell of Yugioh cards (they haven’t really changed over the year), but modern Pokemon cards don’t smell good, and I have no memory of what it used to be.

interesting… all my vintage foil digimon cards are peeling, and I wonder if this unique foil layer or adhesive is what gives it that smell.
