I couldn’t pass on the opportunity for one of my favorite pokemon card artists to commision something for me. Inspired by my love of Runescape, I went with a cartoon dragon with wings, black partyhat, and sword or axe.
this is awesome! Was this the color pencil or acrylic commission?
Hey! Thank you and I requested acrylic!
as a soda variant aficianado, I appreciate this. Does it taste good or bad? I didn’t know this was a thing. I haven’t seen a little ceasars since like 2005.
So I’m going to out myserlf as a phtographer nerd here.
So at the date of 2014, polaroid film was in an awkward place. I picked up instant photography in 2016. In 2008 polaroid shutdown all manufacturing of its film and demolished all their factories except one in europe. By the time fans figured this out they bought the factory and everything in it. They had to re-invent the chemistry for the film. In 2014, the film stock was still not quite there, the black and white was usable, but the color film wasn’t there yet. IMO, it wasn’t until 2018-19 that they got the formula that worked best, but to this day it still sucks. So at this time, the film they could have used was original stock. The grain in this photo is hard to tell, but looks like iso 600 film. The amount of magenta shift makes me think it was new stock at the time. It ages horribly. I HIGHLY suggest that asap you do a high res scan of this. It won’t last. If you can’t get a good scan find someone with a v600 epson ideally. It can also get newton rings when scanning, if thats the case make sure the photo isn’t touching the scanner’s glass. The lack of any streaking of color and the lack of weird abbarations on the edes though make me wonder if its old stock from 2007 or so, but hard to know. They might have taken multiple shots either way before one turned out okay. Old stock will have dried out chemicals, new stock had bad performance in other ways, I have a whole stack of “failures” from new stock. I gave up on the company, polaroid owns it all again now.
So there you have it. Not only is this rare, but the actual photo itself is a miracle to be as nice as it is. If its new stock or old stock, the photo turned out amazing. They knew what they were doing.
hey buddy did u reply to the right post🤔
is that not a polaroid? I was describing how circumstance makes this photo more rare than you think. Polaroid film at that time was both rare, and fickle.
A week ago I ordered a 4 camera dash cam system. Two dash cams in the front module and two in the back module. One points out and the other points inwards. Spent about 2 hours hooking the whole thing up and tucking wires under the trim. Now I got a 4 angle dashcam system bc I’m wayyy too paranoid about getting in a crash and the other person spins the story to make me look like I’m at fault (I’ve seen it happen to 2 people I know)
Your WHAT?! I used to play RuneScape all the time with alts and everything lol. Do you still play?
just a print on a sticker i believe the polaroid thing is the whole motif of 1989, i think you are supposed to take it and stick it on the vinyl coz ellen wanna be a part of the cover
ofc she signed this one which might be the only copy of the ellen one signed
Had to pay over 3000 euros for 8000 pines/birches I planted last month in my forests + some for yard as well.
I hadn’t done this before yet after 10 working days/little over 48 hours including all small breaks I was done. Glad it’s over now, weather was pretty optimal during that period and even mosquitos etc. weren’t a problem, mostly just bumblebees and other good guys supervising the work.
Got this amazing Demonic Tutor for my commander deck just recently (feel free to guess the commander!) This may be my favorite variant despite its many other iconic arts. The book, the writing sprawling out, the demon invading the upper text box; just brilliant.
Don’t mind me, just learning a new rope knot.
no worries i dont know anything about photography so that was a nice mini lesson anyway
i do have some type 1 photos tho with the original negative wonder what the pop is on that these are secured away in the psa slab ofc so hopefully no degradation
Smallville: The Comic #1 (2002), signed by the three actors who played Lana Lang, Clark Kent, and Lex Luthor:
how many tay slabs is that lolz i spammed whatever i had before the price increase + got the quarterly discount saved like $15 a pop compared to todays price
yeah, you can always see about making, or having someone help make for you an archival grade acrylic frame for them. They block most UV waves. Thicker the better. They use it in museums. Unique items to me, are always priceless and worth taking extra care of. My most precious card sits in a prison of a box, inside a bag inside a drawer inside a closet with no windows for example.
