I’m making this thread to see if others are having a similar experience. EBay Authenticity Guarantee is currently taking an inordinate amount of time to process cards. I have a $1,000 purchase from September 14th that is still waiting to be authenticated. I have orders that I’ve shipped taking a similar amount of time. Luckily I’ve moved most of my inventory to Fanatics, but as a buyer its pretty crazy to wait the better part of a month for an order to arrive.
I’m curious to hear from other members if you are having the same experience? I figured its a volume issue, but this turnaround time is a turnoff. I’ve been buying raw Alpha cards and have been completely avoiding ebay. I really hope this isn’t the new norm but let me know if you guys are having the same experience or anymore insight.
Thankfully no. My last one was $700 and shipped from seller on September 13, reached Cali on 9/18 and was authenticated on 9/21. Reached final destination on 9/25. The one before in late August took about 14 days vs this one at 12 so it was actually an improvement
Sadly, I am having a similar issue. I have one purchase from Sept. 7 still sitting with them. The card was authenticated on the 16th, but it hasn’t been shipped to my vault. I submitted a ticket through PSA on Saturday and will share what they say if they respond with something insightful.
Authenticated last Tuesday, no updates, no shipment since then. It should be out the door and on its way to me within a day or 2 once authenticated. Might be able to get a response from eBay if enough people are experiencing this delay right now. Something is going on…
This is happening to me as well. Up until only recently my sales would go through pretty quickly from time of arrival, but lately I’ve been noticing the delays. I’ll get a ping on my phone about a card being authenticated weeks after I’d shipped it out.
Thank god that eBay assumes full accountability for shipping once it marks as delivered to their hub.
The response I received is below. In summary, they are backed up and need 15 days from the receipt date. Hopefully, this helps you estimate when you will receive your cards, and I hope to get mine within a week.
On my last purchase the authentication timeline was actually pretty quick (~1 day), however what was really strange was that after being authenticated, the package ended up being shipped to my external mailbox via Veho (which I have never heard or seen eBay/PSA do before). It kind of threw me for a loop because I started getting texts from veho asking to update delivery instructions and check the status of my package, which I naturally ignored and reported as spam because I had no idea what they were. Also slightly odd that it had such a weird delivery route (from PSA to Santa Ana, up to San Bernardino, and then down south). Curious if anyone else has seen this before:
It really is a shit show. I had the same problem back in April/May. (though there was some other issues with that particular order that had to be rectified afterwards). Made me hold off with selling anything $200+ in tcg space for months.
As the price of absolutely everything is skyrocketing, im sure theyre overwhelmed with a metric ton of cards that are needing to be checked. Theyre probably going to end up in the same boat as CGC and PSA for wait times.
PSA provides the eBay authenticity guarantee. It is strange to me the same company grading is also authenticating itself despite countless examples of slabbing cleaned cards, trimmed cards, fake cards, fake stamps, fake autos, and additional artwork like that Persian.
Ha I have a card at authentication now and I’m taking a trip home for the week. I was worried about it showing up when I’m gone but now it’s sounding like I’ll be fine.
Authentication is such a pain overall. One time I won an auction for a card for a good price and they rejected it because the description didn’t say how there was a known factory error of some lines on the back. Ended up getting relisted a month later and sold for 150 more than I paid. Still bugs me I didn’t get asked if I still wanted it.
ive had some take 3-4 days seems totally random so a week doesnt seem too out of the ordinary (including some that were delivered later but authenticated quicker)
there is basically one person who signs for these dont wanna post their name but if you have other packages u can check who signed for them to see if the name matches then they have it
