The Japanese Pokemon games are way easier to obtain with all the contents still in mint condition. I have a few that my brother in law gave to me because he had extras.

@areestee

That’s nice stack of Blizzard games. Have you already tried SC2 Legacy of the Void? I think the campaign was really cool, atm. trying to get used with multiplayer builds after long break.

Always nice to see other fans out there. Blizzard owned my soul for the longest time, I’m still pouring hours into their games as we speak lol. The picture is a bit dated, so it doesn’t have Legacy of the Void in it, but I do have the Collector’s Edition of that as well. Been following Starcraft since the first game was released (I was… 8 at the time?) so it was pretty neat to see the conclusion of the campaign… no matter how crazy it ended up getting. I don’t play Warcraft anymore but I do follow the lore; back in high school I must’ve put thousands of hours into WoW alone. And Diablo 3, I still play every season… more so than I did during Vanilla actually. The game has gotten a lot better since launch so if you haven’t checked it out recently, it’s definitely worth a try… if you have the time. :stuck_out_tongue:

Other things we collect… hmmm…

Basketball/Football sports cards. I prefer Basketball over football. I’m very casual in this field. I’ll buy into a lot of online team breaks or random breaks for new releases. It gives me the thrill of chance without needing to go to the casino. These are a lot of fun.

Yugioh cards. I completely converted to Yugioh cards and left Pokemon behind during the initial release. I’ve graded a decent amount of Yugioh cards, however in recent years other collectors have hopped on the bandwagon. The approach now, is to keep the few I like and let other collectors build their master sets in this field. I’m happy just watching other collectors build sets after the amount of effort Pokemon took.

Art - I love canvas prints on a wood frame. I look for abstract art that’s not precise, but rather a blend of colors creating a picture. My favorite piece is a the Michael Jordan free throw dunk from the slam dunk competition. You cannot make the picture out up close, but 10 feet away it’s clear what the picture is from. I’ll see if I can find a picture of it. I don’t buy originals, they’re too expensive. These are almost always prints with a bit of glossy touch up before shipping.

Used to collect - Banking Memorabilia. Anytime a bank would sell bonds or funding in a large quantity, the issuing bank would usually provide a glass token of appreciation. These will show up on eBay from time to time with the details of the deal on the outside. Many times the items are from Tiffanys and sell very cheaply. I’ve always thought they were cool, but could never resell them - so I stopped buying them. My favorite piece was a glass dagger HSBC gave to High net worth individuals in the middle east. It had a lot of detail and unfortunately broke during shipping :/.

When I’m at my computer after the holiday I’ll post pictures. I used to collect a lot more than what I have now but it’s grown more selective with time. These are my other collections:

  1. Side Pokemon Collection (includes Scyther, Scizor, Rayquaza, Mewtwo, Jigglypuff, Venonat, Nidoking, Alakazam, and a complete Volcarona collection).

  2. Dark Paladin from Yugioh. Used to be a larger collection but I sold the grand majority of cards years back for a good amount of money. It’s how I started Ebay too.

  3. Elf cards from MTG. Rarely play sadly nowadays

  4. Anything Crow/Raven. Not specific.

  5. Hear no Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil stone carved monkeys. I started this by chance. I like to go antiquing and I started seeing these little stone carvings every once in a while. I have 5 so far.

  6. Foreign coins. Not specific either.

I used to collect keys, pogs, pokemon overall, yugioh, and foreign bills.

I have a decent Boba Fett collection to left at my mother’s place but stopped when I was about 18 as the higher end stuff was out of budget.

Nah it’s really only specific stuff from a couple breweries. One local to me and then just another good drinking beer that I used to frequent.

The current collections that I have been working on the last few years (excluding Pokemon cards themselves) are:

Blu-rays & DVDs if a blu-ray hasn’t been made yet (Current total is around 670 blu-rays and 150 DVDs)

Sealed and CIB versions of every Pokemon game in English and Japanese with a physical copy (almost done with CIB English)

Sealed Pokemon toys (English and Japanese)

Basketball/Football cards (just recently got back into collecting again and I’ll be grading rookies and such now that I’m back)

Empty booster boxes of sets that I’ve opened (Pokemon, Basketball, Football)

Complete CDs of my favorite artists

All of the Viz Pokemon Manga series

I used to collect sneakers, but as of the last few years it has become very aggressive and played out to me so I just view the shoes that I have now as a wardrobe instead of a collection.

As you can probably tell, I love physical media

Yugioh cards and Video Games outside of Pokemon cards. I have taken a huge step back on collecting games though. And Yugioh is alot slower than Pokemon.

I pretty much stopped collecting about three years ago, when I gave my two brothers all but a handful of my baseball cards. Among the ones I let them keep were some that were truly valuable — a couple of Cal Ripken rookie cards come to mind.

Shortly before she graduates from college (in three years), I will let my daughter sell off most of my Pokemon card collection (and keep the money for herself).

I will continue, however, to collect my thoughts now and then.

The line forms behind me.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO money is shit. You must keep your collection and sell your organs for your daughter instead. Or sell a car or something.

What do you have in your collection of pokemoon?

We all get to that point but unfortunately I just can’t shake the bug;)

Does you daughter have the same passion as you ? it think it is hard to get the kids to be into and take care of your business / hobby sometimes.
