What card do you appreciate today?

Seeing its size increasing a lot when evolving made me appreciate corviknight a lot, especially this card

I have been collecting the Sun & Moon Shining Pokemon in multiple languages for close to ten years and was lucky enough to complete it this year. All the cards are great, but this Shining Lugia is probably my personal favourite.

I don’t care too much about Magearna, but this background is stunning.

Lush. I love the details in the ferns, grass, and flowers trailing into pointillistic sky peaking through the trees

I bought this years ago for $4 to dip my toes into graded slabs. It’s fun to have it now to leave out on the desk or let visitors touch without worry.

I love what they did with these Mega full arts. I’ve always been a fan of textured full art cards and this one in particular looks very satisfying to me with the contrast of the purple and pink background with the white of Mega Audino.

It makes me really sad that some people don’t appreciate these cards and the effort and skill of 5ban Graphics digital artists to pose the 3D models and design unique patterns for the backgrounds. I think the work that’s put into designing all the texturing also goes mostly unnoticed but are what makes owning and viewing these cards in person so rewarding. I enjoy pulling them out of the binder individually and admiring how they reflect the light at various angles. To me these are some of the cards most worth collecting because this is an effect you can never get when viewing a png online.

My current favorite in my tiny Golem collection. Got this when JP ex era stuff was cheaper, glad I did. I had a love-hate relationship with Nakamura’s graveller and Geodude as a kid, but I came around to his stule collecting as an adult. Zany off-model depictions are very precious to me now, they symbolize a layer of creativity and artist expression that’s been gradually stripped away lately (both in the TCG and wider series).

..too bad I can’t take pictures! He looks folded here, but that’s just my shadow

The whole family being at Mt. Chimney makes it that much better.
