What Bandit Ring Should Have Been

A little project I’ve been working on for awhile after getting annoyed that TPC isn’t printing the cards I wish they would…I don’t have the software/ability to make actual card images unfortunately. Hope you enjoy! Any thoughts/input on the “realisticness” of these cards would be greatly appreciated.

Beedrill-EX - HP160 [G]

[G] Pursuit - 30
If your opponent’s active Pokemon retreats during your opponent’s next turn, place 4 damage counters on it.

[G] [C] U-Turn - 60
You may switch this pokemon with one of your benched Pokemon. If you do, you may move as many energy as you like from Beedrill-EX to the new active Pokemon.

Retreat: 2 Weakness: [R] x2 Resistance: [x]

M Beedrill-EX - HP210 [G]
Mega: Evolves from Beedrill-EX

Θ Wall - If this Pokemon is your Active Pokemon, ignore all effects of your opponent’s Pokemon’s attacks (except for damage).

[G][C][C] Attack Order - 30x
This attack does 30 damage times the number of [G] Pokemon in play (both yours and your opponent’s).

Retreat: 0 Weakness: [R] x2 Resistance: [x]

Suicune-EX - HP180 [W]

Ability: Glimmering Rain
As often as you like during your turn (before your attack) you may attach a [W] energy from either your hand or your discard pile to your active Pokemon. If you do, place 1 damage counter on your active Pokemon.

[W][W][C] Ice Beam - 90

Retreat: 2 Weakness: [L] x2 Resistance: [R] -20

Hoopa-EX - HP170 [Psy]

[C] Trickery - Search your deck for a Pokemon and an Energy card, reveal them, and put them into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterwards.

[Psy][Psy][C] Hyperspace Hole - 100

Retreat: 2 Weakness: [D] x2 Resistance: [x]

Hoopa Unbound-EX - HP230 [D]
Mega: Evolves from Hoopa-EX

Θ Fury - Every time this Pokemon damages the defending Pokemon, place 2 damage counters on one of your benched Pokemon.

[Psy][D][C] Bandit Ring - 160
This attack’s damage isn’t affected by Weakness, Resistance, or any other effects on the defending Pokemon.

Retreat: 3 Weakness: [Y] x2 Resistance:[x]

Tyranitar-EX - HP180 [D]

[D][C] Crushing Claw - 30+
If the defending Pokemon is not a Basic Pokemon, this attack does 40 more damage.

[D][D][D][C] Head Charge - 130

Retreat: 3 Weakness [F] x2 Resistance: [Psy] -20

M Tyranitar-EX - HP230 [D]
Mega: Evolves from Tyranitar-EX

[D][D][D][C] Dreadnaught Bomb - 220
Discard an energy attached to one of your opponent’s Pokemon.

Retreat: 3 Weakness: [F] x2 Resistance: [Psy] -20

Seviper-EX - HP170 [Psy]

Ability: Strike from Shadows
Once during your turn (before your attack), if this Pokemon is your Active Pokemon, you may shuffle this Pokemon and all cards attached to it into your deck. If you do, damage from your Pokemon’s attacks this turn is increased by 20. You can’t use more than one Strike from Shadows ability per turn.

[C][C] Venom Drench -
The Defending Pokemon is now poisoned. Place 4 damage counters instead of 1 on the Defending Pokemon between turns.

Retreat: 2 Weakness: [Psy] x2 Resistance: [x]

Regirock-EX - HP180 [F]

[F] Pure Heft - 30
This attack does 20 damage to one of your opponent’s benched Pokemon.

[F][F][C] Rock Wrecker - 110
Discard a Special Energy attached to this Pokemon. If you can’t discard a Special Energy, this attack does nothing.

Retreat: 4 Weakness: [W] x2 Resistance: [x]

The ancient trait here is just too ambiguous and thus severely OP to be realistic. The way I read it, once established, it can’t be touched save for trainers etc.

Not bad at all. I like the ability.

This attack is just too imbalanced. There literally is nothing negative about it, and due to energy acceleration it is easy set up. I would suggest it read something more like this;

“Discard an energy attached to the defending Pokémon and one energy attached to each of your benched Pokémon.”

Definitely some nice work though. Would love to see the cards come to life =)

@ozenigma Theta Wall is meant to stop effects of attacks, not damage, and only during your next turn. So, for example it would ignore the item locking from Seismitoad-EX’s Quaking Punch and the supporter-locking from Exeggutor (PLF)'s Blockade. That’s really all it would do. Locking has become so annoying in the metagame that it’s time we had something to stop it. However it could be active even if M-Beedrill is on the bench, which wasn’t as I had thought. I will fix that accordingly.

I put lots of thought into Dreadnaught Bomb and M Tyranitar-EX in general. The attack is not that easy to power up. Assume you get a T1 Tyranitar-EX and Spirit Link, and one energy. Next turn you Mega, and attach another energy. Only way you could attack T2 is with 2 Mega Turbos, which isn’t likely. More likely than not it takes 3-4 turns to power up, and it needs a big reward if it takes that long. Even so, it isn’t as OP as a T2 M Rayquaza Emerald Break, which can reliably hit for anywhere between 120-240 and is much easier to power up. Throw in that M-TTar is weak to the common fighting type, and has a retreat of 3, I think it’s well-balanced.

Thanks! I wish they would be printed too

The way you have worded Theta Wall indicates it is every part of the attack, otherwise it would read;

“Ignore all effects of your opponents attacks excluding damage”.

Secondly, the wording of “your opponents next turn” doesn’t establish and end that say “your opponents next turn, this can only be used once whilst in play”. I see you have now edited it but not enough in my eyes.

M-Ray has the ability to hit for 240 provided you can reliably keep your stadium up, get all your cards out and attach. Remeber, sky field also helps out Raichu who easily tears M-Ray apart (if not protected by Swablu).

The attack of M-Tar is broken in my eyes. It has no negatives. Look at any big damage attack, they all have a price to pay whether it be discards of energy or cards from the deck. It needs a negative in my eyes.

I didn’t even realize Mega Beedrill was a thing… You learn something new everyday…

I really like a lot of these, some really creative abilities and attacks. Only thing that I’d say was a little over powered would be the M T-tar. Even then though, 4 energy, with 3 being dark, wouldn’t be super easy to set up in this format given we no longer have Dark Patch.

Frothing at the idea of a Suicune EX though ugh. It’ll happen soon…

It’s actually one of the most well designed megas.
