For your own use to check accurate sales, please consider looking into Terapeak, eBay’s research tool for sales data. Only completed eBay sales that are paid for are listed there, which differentiates it from regular eBay last solds/sites like 130point. Terapeak also does not list sales that were initially paid for by buyer but cancelled later (in my experience).

Pokebuffet is really good at getting people to reply to him.

These points about unpaid sales are valid with cards that don’t sell often like gold stars. People shill them and don’t pay all the time. But with a modern, non rare, non scarce set card??? This card sells dozens of times a day. The data we have is as good as it can be. I’m sure it’s scary to look at a graph that’s heading down when you bet the farm in a modern set card, but likely the sooner you look at that data the sooner you can change your investment strategy.

If you think people will care about a regional vmax gimmick 2 gens from now when there is 30 new umbreon illustration rares you just haven’t been here long enough to be spending that much money responsibly

There also seems to be an extremely high amount of trust placed in graded copies. Grading is not as popular as it once was and modern grading is 100% a fad. This card has over 80% chance to grade a PSA 10. If you’re buying pre graded copies, you are simply wasting money. It’s statistically unlikely that you send in a decent copy and get a 9

Maybe I’ve been too positive? Should have stated “barely accurate” when a considerable amount of the sales happened off Ebait!

I see so many ppl defending tcgfish. Pls go ahead and use whatever you deem fit. Just stating opinion here.

Don’t keep getting personal. I comment on Pokemon cards, websites, info, etc but not people here. Appreciate if some of you guys can do that too.

I personally always use 130point to check last solds.

Only used tcgfish here to show that some modern cards are already way ahead of some ‘blue chip’ cards like goldstars, shinings, crystals or 1st ed base.

To me that doesnt make any sense but the market clearly not lying.

The only problem with being #9 in marketcap is upside potential, that is just gone at that point.

For your info, there are many fake deals in Ebait.

tcgfish winning here, all publicity is good publicity

Every time you say Ebait, a child dies. It sounds like an early 2000s p*rn website.

Could you tell us why you’re so averse to eBay? Surely it’s changed in the decade that you haven’t used it. Did you have a particularly bad experience? I don’t know a single person who buys all of their cards in person or meets people online to only transact for cards in person.

You want to think dirty, your choice. But that wasn’t my intention.

In my country/community, it’s better and safer (and preferred) to meet up in real life (examine cards in hand, then handover the payment in cash. No preorder.)

What country are you out of?

Dyl, where’s your msg asking for some context?:interrobang: Here they are:

None of these mention eBay. Mostly Carousell, whatever that is. Oh and one mentions a scammer through a Facebook community.

Are you suggesting that you live in Singapore and eBay scams are rampant there?

Active in Ebait circa late 1990s to early 2010s, had some great deals but the lost parcels were getting more and more frequent until I quitted it circa mid 2010s.

It used to be free until they came up with lotsa seller’s crap like KPI. That’s the last straw for me.

Some of you may have excellent experiences with that webbie but I’m entitled to mine too.

Certainly it’s improved since the mid 2010s. I’ve order many hundreds of parcels from eBay and have only lost a handful, and most of those were around the COVID pandemic USPS craziness.

From a neutral place - I’m not trying to say anything about you personally, just my initial perception of your posts: To me, your tone comes off as reactive and combative. If others also feel this way, but if you DO NOT want this, it may be something to reflect on.

BUT if you don’t want to reflect on it. That’s fine. I’m just trying to give a neutral response compared to others here.

Unpopular opinion?

I agree with this.
I do really appreciate your different takes and your passion about pokemon cards @pokebuffet.

However somethimes it feels you are not really open to different views and facts posted by other people too, which is why these discussions always get a bit too hot.
