Modern ruined shiny Pokemon in the TCG, especially Hidden Fates/Shining Fates. To me, shinies are meant to be hard to find and special. They are common and boring now.

I completely agree, however I was so stoked getting that regular shiny Centiskorch because it was my favourite one frome that gen. Again, still agree.

Still surprised they didn’t have wailmer and wailord in the shiny vault

That sub is exactly what I expect talking to sports card and modern comics “investors” in the early 90s was like

This is big in the games today. Back in early gens it can take you months of consistent hunting to get one and it may not even be your target. Today you could reasonably get what you’re looking for in an afternoon for easier targets. They are a lot less meaningful today for most mons.

the time to rest was 2020, we need all hands on deck now, soldier. Consolidate the vintage market into e4’s hands before the next change.

Try stepping away for a month and let us know if it’s possible. Don’t log into pwcc, heritage or eBay. I’m not sure I could do it lol

I’m currently taking a 1 month break from purchasing. It’s hard but there’s more copies of most cards out in the market than there has been recently so it’ll be ok

One of my biggest mistakes/regrets was when I stopped buying almost completely in 2019 after I quit my job to go back to school. So many missed opportunities. Wish I waited just one more year.

Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion.
Let me first say that I’m glad errors are a thing that a lot of people enjoy. I was an error enjoyer back in the days where people still debated whether errors should be worth less than their non-error counterparts.
I think most modern error collecting is a joke. Due to how common it is in English releases, I feel like it just showcases the shoddiness of English Quality Control just because they know they can get away with it. I see people praising literally ripped, torn, and damaged cards just because it was officially produced. Of course, every now and again there’s a really interesting one like holo overlays or major errors. But the grand majority just turn me off to modern error collections.
I’m almost surprised we haven’t reached the point of calling cards with whitening pulled pack fresh “White Dot Back Errors”.

Agree, but if an unpopular opinion is popular is it still unpopular?

At what point is an opinion unpopular?

I never got any when I used to play but then you had to physically keep going into patches of grass to start an encounter.
I’ve had I think 6-8 shinies in SV just walking around and not shiny hunting. The latter doesn’t interest me at all. Most are worse recolours and also the process is boring AF.
I also realized since I’m a casual, hatching eggs for better IVs is not for me. I did that in SWSH and it sucked.
The more Pokemon makes it easier to make the Pokemon you get the best they can be, the better.

I learned that this might be “one of the worst takes of all time” in Discord so I’ll bring it here:
From the front, especially in a binder, English (etc.) SM rainbow rares are superior to Japanese. The texture is just way more prominent, it pops easier through sleeve & binder page. They look better.
Since the pattern can vary between them, which one’s better is more subjective for each card.
The Zard is the only card I have in both languages as an exmaple, the Japanese is obv beat up. Should’ve bought a mint one in 2018 instead of opening 10 boxes trying to pull it
