My goals this year in regard to collecting I would say are more about self changes over acquisition. I found that with the state of Pokemon these days and how expensive its got as well as hard to just manage for someone like myself, I’ve seen myself isolate a bit more while holding onto lots of negative feelings and heavy opinions which tend to get judgey at times so I really want to work hard on being able to hold these thoughts while also still being positive and part of Pokemon in whatever ways work for me. So overall, I just want to see myself shift my mindset to adapt better to the times, while also trying to make more genuine connections with others if possible. Its been very hard and has really sent me all over the place the past year, so in that regard im happy to say I’ll do my best to make that little dream possible. And maybe some fun cool things will come my way in the process

Not a very exciting goal compared to many other E4 users, but I’d like to complete and then present my 216-Slot SV Art Rare binder.
I’m too scared to pay lots for a single card, but some of my favourite cheap card artwork had been the SV era.

Happy 2026, everyone! 
Here’s my goals for the year:
- Mainly hoping to reach 95% for my all-languages Eevee collection this year!
- Currently at a little over 78% (1022/1310) and recently placed some big orders totaling >140 cards
so I’m pretty hopeful that this goal is achievable. - Mostly focusing on pre-Scarlet/Violet Eevee cards, of which I’ve collected 83% (856/1031) with a little under 100 cards on the way. Would be awesome if I could reach something like 97-98% for this grouping, though there are a handful of cards that may make this difficult:
- Eevee & Snorlax GX prices have exploded in the past year or so, and there are some obscure Thai/Korean/Spanish cards that will be a challenge to find…
- Re-house my Eevee collection in a new binder/binders
- My English/Japanese Eevees are currently in a 9-pocket binder which is about to be entirely full. Meanwhile, my other Eevee cards are in storage boxes which makes them difficult to fully appreciate.
- Still deciding whether I’ll try to put all pre-SV cards in one big 16-pocket binder, or if I’ll split my collection up into multiple 9/12-pocket binders.
- Stretch goal: Do write-ups on the releases for each Eevee illustration
- I would love to document the history of Eevee cards across all languages including pictures and information about their release. This will be a huge undertaking, but it will get done… eventually
- I also want to do a series of recordings going over this information, but that’s probably a 2027 goal since I’d first like to complete my pre-SV Eevee collection in order to show the cards off as I speak.

it all starts with 1, then it will be neo then on and on and on.
OOC, would you include the Legendary Collection Card? as it is the same artwork etc but obviously a different set.
bonus is its only English
- Get close to finishing all languages of Marill - I’m currently over 90%, that will drop again when the new Marills get released outside of Japan, but I think I can get fairly close to complete this year!
- Shrink the graded collection a bit more. I sold a fair bit at the start of 2025 to fund other hobbies, and honestly, I don’t miss the sold cards as much as I thought I would.

My binder collection was decimated back in 2024 when I traded the big cards for a core collection piece. Still in recovery mode to complete the mint English and Japanese holos from the WOTC era for the binder…..very very slow work in progress with how everything has gone up.
I’d also like to pick up a couple niche cards if possible, but this will be very dependent on potential 3 or 4-way trades to make happen.

I understand the sentiment and the changes in the hobby and I won’t be surprised if we see this crazy behavior again at some point but don’t let it deter you. Sometimes it’s just about adjusting your goals and finding the good in the hobby. E4 has always been great and the community as a whole. Hope that you have a better year! That is a good goal and I do the same thing to always work on myself to be an even better person. At the state of the hobby, that is why I changed my profile picture as it was sad the way things were going but now I just find it kinda funny, you just have to laugh it off at this point.

Eventually I’d do all the sets, but for now I’ll practice some focus. Nice to have chapters in a saga. Hope your hunt is going well, I see you previously were looking for 1999-2000 print Mysterious Fossil.

Title: “BELGIUM” and nothing more.
It would be good to have it formalized in one place. Through osmosis all I know, is that I can shine a flashlight through a early era card and discover if its a belgium card if it shines through.

I have to try REALLY hard work towards this too. I made my first post christmas day 2024. Until then I lurked and learned. I made sure my first ever post was something that would cheer people up, and its still my proudest pokemon card accomplishment. I’m pretty sure I’m the only person to do it too! Since then its been hard. I have stumbled a lot. And for that I am sorry. The good people here have been more than patient with me. I’m not used to a group of people anywhere on the internet who know what forgiveness is. Something special has been cultivated here…and they make it worth staying for. So, lets both work on it a bit more this year yeah? And I suggest looking at the fun threads, like the voting on pokemon threads, question of the day, and other such things community focused.

Jesus Christ its been a minute.
2026 goals, continue selling portions of my collection to pay off the house that i had put a down payment on using funds from slab sales in 2023-2024.
Once that is done, need to close out some missing IR and SIR from the SV block.
At this point, my chase cards are out of reach so looks like its back to modern collecting.

I’m still at a loss for what the goals even are for 2026?
I finally acquired a 1st ed Charizard near the end of last year, so the ultimate itch has been scratched. Since then I haven’t really been able to pin down anything that I actually want in particular.
I guess adding another missing Gold Star to the collection would be something. And it’ll be the case of collecting any random IR/SIR’s that I manage to pull or come across for the right price.
Not being a set collector really leaves me rudderless sometimes!

Finishing at least one page would be a success for 2026. That’s pretty much what I have left to collect in Pokémon to consider all my binders complete.

Amazing work herr Martin! Those pages will never not look fresh. Can’t wait to see you accomplish the completions. A complete destiny set is just so satisfying.
Sometimes I’m like ‘hmm.. should I rearrange them into set order cause they look so good? Aghh… too many choices, I like seeing komiyas together aghh!’

Thank you good sir! Neo destiny is truly a unit of a set. I think that once I get the gengar, I will definitely sleep better.
Oh, did I hear anything about rearranging? =) My favourite part of binder collecting. For the longest time, I had the binder organized by sets per double page (except for genesis since the metal energy flows over to the next page). Then I switched to sorting by type, there is just something special about seeing one color.
And last year I decided for the consecutive fill up of all the holos from base to destiny. Without shinings, they fit perfectly and leave no empty space on the last page!
